U.K.'s Delta wave seems to have peaked sooner than expected.

After surging for months because of the hypercontagious Delta variant, COVID-19 cases in the United Kingdom are rapidly plummeting, raising the question of whether America’s Delta wave could also peak sooner than expected.

“In the United Kingdom … cases are clearly coming down at this point,” Dr. Scott Gottlieb, the former Food and Drug Administration commissioner, told CNBC on Monday. “If the U.K. is turning the corner, it’s a pretty good indication that maybe we’re further into this than we think, and maybe we’re two or three weeks away from starting to see our own plateau here in the United States.”

The U.K.’s turnaround has been startling in its abruptness and speed......But ever since July 20, the opposite has happened: Cases have fallen for seven straight days, and they have fallen fast.....

I think Cuomo, Whitmer and a few of the other Govs have pretty much already killed everybody in the nursing homes....

We may hope.

But get vaxxed and masked anyway.

Over the last two days, cases are rising again and the health experts expect more in the Autumn. Younger people are reluctant to be jabbed and it is among them that Covid is still spreading...

70% of the UK population is fully vaccinated compared with only 48% in the USA. The USA is at least 30% points under herd immunity so can anticipate a sharp increase in Delta Covid in the un-vaccinated populations.

Expect Black, Hispanic, and rural white people, particularly from poorer socio-economic groups to suffer the most.
