Hello,

I was hoping for advice. My gf is interested in being tied up during sex. We have a wonderful sex life and are always open to exploring each other's fantasy. I wanted to ask some tips as to the best way to do this. I think we just want to start with tying her hands. She doesn't really have a headboard so I was thinking just tying her hands together. What is the best way to do this? Behind her back? What are the pros and cons about behind her back vs above her head or any other options? Are some positions better than others while her hands our tied. Thanks for any help and I aplogize if I posted this in the wrong place.

I have found that the best way to tie someone up is to use stuff that is readily available.. I have used the belt from my robe and I have also used the scarf that I was wearing at the time. If all else fails put whatever you are going to tie her up with under the pillow and drag it out when she is not expecting it. Tie her hands up over her head and try that first. I would not recommend at first going all out and tying feet to legs of the bed and all of that to start with.. Bondage is something that needs to be gradually introduced. The first time I tied anyone up it was completely spontaneous because they would not stay still and let me do what I wanted to do.. You can only push someone down on the bed so many times before you resort to tying them up.

You could tie her hands to the legs of the bed with some longer bindings. Tying her hands together allows to much freedom of movement for my taste. Having her arms spread allows you easier access, it's probably more comfortable for her then having her bound hands held above her head and it will enhance the feeling of helplessness that turns her on about being tied up in the first place.

Oh and be sure to use something soft to bind her with.

If you have an ensemble set up, you can still tie your partner down to the legs of the bed.

Use soft rope that isn't too thin unless you both like marks. If you don't have anything soft or only have things like twine or washing line, pad the wrist with a cloth before using whatever you do have.

If you don't want to tie her down because you still want to be able to move her around, position her wrists at the small of her back, forefingers and thumbs making a triangle, then tie her wrists together. She can comfortably lie on her hands for a while like this and it makes it easy to re-position her at will.

Have fun and let us all know how it goes. ;)

Positions etc: you'll have to experiment and see what works for you.

Since it shows up a lot in fiction: avoid pantyhose. It becomes very hard to undo knots and can dig into skin, making it difficult to cut without injuring the bind-ee.

When tying wrists etc, aim to have the binding cover as much area as you can; narrow ties create more pressure, which can be harmful. If what you're using is thin, wind it around several times to spread the load over a wider area.

Many times the best thing to tie someone to is themselves. Tie wrists to ankles, elbows to knees, and then run a length under the body and use that to pull those limbs down and away...

On a king size bed a simple loop of rope around each corner would provide an anchor point.

On a smaller bed it's probably best to make a simple grid of ropes underneath the bed either an "X" from corner to corner or four ropes a foot in from each edge, knotted where they intersect

Duct-tape is fun but I like to cut the tops off some tube socks to keep adhesive off skin. Don't snug that (or anything else for that matter) too tight....you want good circulation but also you want to be able to get a pair of scissors underneath to cut them loose when you're done with your victim. Paramedic scissors are an excellent kinky tool box item.

This one wins, in my opinion, unless the rope is part of the fetish, and either way, the FIRST item worth buying are 2 or 3 of those six buck EMT shears. One pair of ours worked its way into the kitchen, I swear a more useful safety tool was never made.

I also like bandannas and fabric scarves that don't stretch and came out of a dollar bin somewhere.

Unless you're into a lot of after-sex soreness, I'd go arms front or side, and not as ambitious as you think you need to be in the stretching out and splaying and whatnot - you will be amazed at how much soreness even an in shape player will experience when you add sex and bondage together.

You could tie her to the door also...tying someone down don't always have to be on a bed

I agree with several of the statements above, considering how many times I've been tied up.

I actually prefer handcuffs, but when starting out, get ones with a clasp. That way, if the key doesn't work/gets lost, she can still get out. I bought a pair of red cuffs that had a clasp at an adult store for $6 (actually, it was part of a birthday present from my fav. Dom).

Also, hair ties work marvelously. Cheap, and they have a little elacisty to them so she can still move/get out if neeed be, but otherwise, they're pretty restricting. Using multiples help.

Ask her how far she is willing to go. Her wanting this is to show how much she trusts u. Respect her limmits and she will love u more. As for no headboard. The bedframe works wonders. U will find she will be spread wider. As for tying above the head. It isnt only meant to keep hands away but restrict breathing. Again respect her limits. As for behind the back. She will have no leverage this allows u control of her whole upper body. Having her struggle a lil will be an experience and u controling her will be too.

In front of the body is better than behind, as it allows some flexibility. You can tie her hands in front of her and then move them to above here head, or down by her stomach at will.

Rope or scarves are both options. If you're going for rope, have a look on YouTube for Twisted Monk to see how to tie a nice safe rope cuff.

I recommend an under the bed restraint kit. It's comfortable and easy. Once it's set up, it's ready to use whenever. If she likes that, then I would move to rope.

This is a great idea, especially for people just starting off. I used to love tying my ex girlfriend's hands up behind her back with one of my ties and then using my belt to lightly whip her and even throw it around her neck (I guess I should explain that she absolutely LOVED light choking).

Check out Humane Restraints if you are serious about bondage. I sleep in one of their harnesses every night.

Thanks for all your advice! We ended up using a scarf above her head and it worked very well! We have done a bit of sub/dom things in the bedroom that has stemmed from this. It has been quite a fun experience. I am in y'all's debt.
