Uh.....Gaurdin...................sorry, I do not have ANY of the qualifications that you seek but.................you have one that interests me and that is "computer geek" so..............would you mind telling how one gets rid of that horrible spyware iSearch and iDownload. I think they are the cause of my computer having spastic fits.Gaurdian said:I'm looking for ladies near me that want a friend, lover, computer geek or fuck buddy

There's nothing like having a geek guy... but I'm not in Texas, otherwise, send me a line sometime and we'll talk geek. Oh Tex, try installing Ad Aware, or Spybot Search and Destroy. I installed both and they got rid of some nasty spyware I had.![]()

You can check out my pics in the amateur pic thread if you wish. My pm is always open
I want to thank BOTH of y'all, (rydia57 & Gaurdian), for helpful responses. The problem is I ALREADY HAVE the programs spybot and AdAware and yet iSearch & iDownload still has a "mini-taskbar" lurking in the right-hand bottom of my screen. I can be here or even in word pad and get full page ads taking over my screen sometimes 3-4 at a time. (Yes, I also have a pop-up blocker). AND, I also have AVG (anti-virus) AND a spyware service that came with Yahoo. I am in awe of those of you who are computer savvy! Heck, I still can't master cut & paste! LOL. Thank y'all very much for your suggestions. If you have any others, post here or you can PM me. Oh, and Arkansas is "delightful" (is that a good pun)? Been there many times. Love Highway 7 especially from Hot Springs to Harrison!rydia57 said:Hi Gaurdian,

Thank you once again Gaurdian. I know you didn't come here for 'puter issues but I don't have access to anyone who knows diddley about these things and I just kind of "fly by wire" on mine HOPING I don't get into trouble. I will quit bugging you about computer stuff and let you get to the business that this board is for, (like meeting/talking to WOMEN!! I would appreciate a PM if you ever find out more about the companies I mentioned. I HAVE been to their site and (supposedly) used their uninstaller but they still come back! Anyway, Ladies out there, 'ol Gaurdian seems like a nice, right fellow. You may be missing a good boat by not shipping out with him. And NO, we are NOT related!! Except by State LOL. And if you ever start you a "tech" message board you could call it............Gaurdian Angel !! Thanks again pardner. (tx).Gaurdian said:Ol Tex sounds like you have the right tools for the job, you may need to update AdAware's definitions so it can properly clean the system. Also make sure you haven't added the isearch/idownload stuff to your ingore lists in your adaware program. I'll look for another tool to remove it, unfortunately most I've seen available are said to be from the isearch/idownload company and cause your system to hang. But I'll see what I can find.
And also thanks to you Nimbulan. I will try the safe mode starts this evening. I appreciate all the help from you nice folks. (tx).Nimbulan said:Well first I'll say this to Gaurdian: Good luck, and I don't get it, but when I was looking for a playmate in SA there were none to be found! Now MsTexas just kinda falls out of the proverbial sky and lands in your not-quite-so-proverbial lap. As luck would have it, I just moved to Austin so I get to start my search anew.
To busines... Ol Tex: One other thing you should try (some spy/adware will detect whenever stuff like adaware is loaded and run and will copy itself to an already scanned location so even if you remove it, when you reboot, guess what? It's back.) The only thing I can suggest is this, run the full scan (not just the system scan) in ad-aware, then reboot the machine and go into safe mode (hit the F8 key about once per second when you turn on the computer until a text based menu comes up, then select SAFE MODE) once it boots up, you'll notice the colors are probably messed up and it should say safe mode at the top and bottom of the screen. Run the same full system scan again. (Just to make sure you get it all, I would run both the AdAware and the Spybot S&D scans) After all this, reboot your system again and let it come up normally, run one final scan to confirm everything is gone and you should be good to go.
