Deep in the Wudang mountains there is a school that trains warriors in the art of fighting. Students are selected from around the world, from every walk of life and from every style of combat imaginable. The students are placed under the tutelage of the greatest martial artist alive, Master Cloud.

A fresh day rises over the mountains, the sun painting the morning mists gold and red. The sound of prayer bells rings across the grounds and the students rise to meet another day of grueling training at the Two Trees Academy.

Name: Conner Xianwei
Age:18
Fighting style: T'ai Chi Chuan
Physical description: Tall and lanky, with a very lean frame. His redish black hair is long and pulled back in either a ponytail although occasionally he allows his hair to hang loose around his face. He dresses in the standed white student robes. A complex tattoo of a dragon emerging from the sea covers his entire back. He his half Irish, half chinese resulting in a pair of almond shaped firery green eyes.
Personality: Connar is a young master of T'ai Chi Chuan and it shows in everything he does. He is calm, compassionate and gentle preferring harmony to any form of conflict. He is however very dedicated to his training and will not hesitate to defend himself or those he cares for.
His style of T'ai Chi is focused on control of an opponent rather than causing damage. He is able to effortlessly deflect or evade blows aimed at him away from his body, move with the lightness of a feather and channel his chi into devastating open palm strikes and pushes. He has also demonstated skill in manipulating the merdians of a person's body allowing him to manipulate the chi of an opponent.

If you can RP using that style then feel free to use it. Also please everyone feel free to invite whoever. The more people we have the sooner we can get the plot going.

And just for everyone's reference, there will be alot of combat in this thread so remember to play by the rules so we can all have fun.

Hi guys! Hope you don't mine a lady getting in on the fun, or is this a traditional (i.e. men only) martial arts school?

Here's my character either way!

Name: Leung Yang
Age: 19
Fighting style: Wing Chun (a Southern Chinese Kung Fu Style)
Physical description and appearance: Yang is short by Western standards, only 5'2" tall. She is sleek and curvy, with a serpentine grace. Her hair is a shiny mass of jet black that falls to the small of her back. She usually twines it up in a bun high at the back of her head. She has brown eyes and smooth pale skin.
Personality: Yang tries very hard to be calm and relaxed, but she is a very spirited girl. She gets excited easily and is rather bold. She knows that martial arts is seen as a man's occupation, and feels she has to be twice as good as anyone else for her skill to be recognized. She also knows that her boldness is considered very inappropriate for a woman in her culture, and gets irritated by even a slight intimation that she should behave more "feminine."

Fighting style: Capoeira Contemporanea (Brazilian martial art focusing on rhythm, legwork, and acrobatics.)
Physical description: 5'11". An strong, yet agile, frame with extremely little body fat. Immaculate brown dreadlocks fall to his shoulders. In action, he ties his hair back into a high, thick ponytail. Coming from a mixed family, his skin is a light caramel while his face holds sharper caucasian features. He dresses stylishly while training, opting for athletic gear with his sponsor's brands and A-shirts. He hardly ever wears shoes, but meticulously tapes up his limbs before training.
Personality: Victor is a child of the modern age. While reverent to Capoeira's history, he believes that it's survival depends on selling it to the rest of the world. That in mind, he's shown no hesitation competing in (and winning) national tournaments or taking on commercial sponsors.
Victor is thrillseeker. Aggressive. He has a sense of invulnerability born from youth and success, leading him to take many risks(be it physical or otherwise). He enjoys fashion and music(so long as it's got a good beat). He's a bit of a health nut, exercising constantly and adhering to a strict vegetarian diet. An insatiable curiosity and a lustful eye are his weakness.

Age: 19, American
Long red hair, green eyes, medium to slightly slender build (but curves where it counts), 5' 10", C

Stacey is a decent, fairly intelligent girl who had the misfortune to be born to two jag-off parents. She was sold into servitude by her parents to pay gambling debts to a local mandarin. She works at the dining hall of the Two Trees. One of her duties is about to become pleasing the students and staff sexually. The master of the Academy sees the white girl as a handy "reward," not to mention an overall stress reliever. She has no idea what his plans for her are.

Stacey is up for inclusion in any scene...romantic, relucant, or forced. (Most Asian cultures don't place the same premium on "consent" that Western civs do anyway; it's all good with me.)

I second GentLi's comment. I love martial arts movies, comics, games, and the like, so I'm really excited about this thread.

Name: Jason Chamberlain

Age: 21

Style: Shotokan Karate

Physical Description: Jason is a 6'2" tall, broad shouldered, powerfully muscular caucasian American. The agility he displays often seems incompatible with his size. He has brown hair with natural red highlights that falls to the base of his neck, parted in the middle. His eyes are green, though the exact shade seems to change with his emotions. Jason's features are ruggedly handsome with a roguish cast.

Jason dresses in very relaxed fashion most of the time, jeans and a t-shirt with an unbuttoned long sleeve shirt over it. He favors bright colors, though he is also fond of wearing blue. For formal training or competitions, he wraps his hands and feet with strips of linin and wears a white karate gi. Written on the back in calligraphy are the the Japanese characters for Courtesy, Justice, and Faith.

Personality: Jason doesn't seem like a very likely martial artist. He is quick witted and often makes jokes and smart ass comments about the world around him. This lack of seriousness is mostly a front, he takes his training and fighting very seriously, with a strong desire to constantly improve himself. He is very curious and fearless, which often results in him getting to practice his karate in street fights when he pokes his nose where it doesn't belong. When in sparring or in competition, he is very competitive, but this relaxes once the contest ends.

Jason was trained by his grandfather, a 2nd generation Japanese-American immirgant. Jason then traveled to Japan and Okinowa to further his training. He has recently begen studying Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do philosophy of martial arts and is quite taken with it. It is likely that he will start altering his style to incorporate elements of others that appeal to him.

Name: Joseph Genarro
Age: 25
Style: Kouga style Ninjitsu (ninjutsu? something like that)
Appearance: Joseph has black hair and brown eyes. He is 6'3", and weighs 160 pounds. His skin has a natural tan, from his mixed heritage of Iroquois and Italian. He wears glasses, but that shouldn't fool anyone, as he can see more clearly than most people with them on. He almost always wears black, usually a handmade suit of black body armor made of woven fibers of Spectra and strands of zirconium-titanium alloy, along with a black leather ankle length coat, which has a lot of pockets on it.

Background: When he was a child, a young girl and her mother and uncle taught him the basics of Kouga style. He adapted the style with moves pulled from many other disciplines, mostly from simply viewing them. When he turned 20, he visited Japan, where he met up with the same girl, and ended up meeting and being further trained by her father, the Master of the Kouga School of Ninjutsu. He quickly surpassed all of the other students at the school, and, under recommendation of the man, is now at Two Trees academy, where he hopes to further expand the training he acquired, as well as adapt moves from other styles into his own unique form of Tai-Jutsu, or Body Arts.

OC: I was invited to this thread by someone here who I've RPd with in other threads. It's intriguing, and I'd read the first post beforehand, and planned to follow along reading. I know absolutely nothing about any of the martial arts, but if you all would like to have me here and can think of a place for me I'd be interested in a part. I could also work in the cafe similar to Obsidian I guess, but I DONT want to walk over her or step on her part! So, you all let me know if you have ideas and would like my presence. THX!

Andrew was the son of a Ambassador to Hong Kong.He was trained in martial arts as a way to defend himself and build character,he has traveled around the world since he was 18 learning various styles and forms of combat in his quest to learn more.He has mainly gotten by using various elements of the 3 styles mentioned but tries to incoperate all that he has learned and witnessed through his travels. He was recommended about the Two Trees Acadmey while on a vist to the Shalion Monestry and has headed to it from there eager to broaden his knowledge.

Physical description and appearance: Tall, slender, softly stern, and stunning, Chantelle is a statuesque vision of queenly exquisiteness. She carries herself with the elegance befitting a goddess, never slouching or slumping, and her long neck only adds to that regal appeal. Chantelle has long, ebony hair, stormy grey eyes, and cream-and-coffee brown skin. Her clothing of choice tends to show off her flat tummy and God-Given full breasts.

Personality: If you were to only scratch the surface of Chantelle, you will likely be left with the impression that she’s nothing more then an ice queen. A cold hearted bitch with a wit so sharp it could be registered as a lethal weapon. Dig a little deeper though and you will find…well, more bitch, but below that there’s a chewy centre, far softer then her diamond encrusted exterior.

The ancient Chinese form of martial arts was forced upon a much younger Chantelle. The usual issue in school - Chantelle was bullied from the minute she stepped into a classroom. An outcast for years she regularly got into problems, which lead to a downward spiral of abusive relationships, from friends, enemies and her own family.

Shipped off to a boarding school at age 12 the same problems arose. She got into fights, had no friends it was the same old crap. But this time she broke out. Sick of being tied down she was alone and on her own. Her life had become one of those sappy, pre-teen dramas that make you sick to your stomach. For the next few days, she managed to stay out of trouble, spending her days and nights in a public park. Every morning an elderly man would choose a quiet spot in the park and practice some form of martial arts. Her parents, her mother in particular were obsessed with old 80s martial arts flicks so she was slightly familiar with a few of his routines.

It didn’t take long for her to befriend to elderly stranger and even eventually joined him in his morning practices. It wasn’t until 6 months later that she confessed she had no home and the elaborate life story she feed him was a lie. From that day a bond was created, he took her in as his own and under his influence, she trained, learning: Pi Qua Quan a style she quickly grew to adore. From then on, she was hooked, enrolling back into school, finishing junior high and high school at the top of her class. Still an outcast she stuck to herself not interested in socializing with anyone.

It was through Hotaru Lee Scott (whose last name she adopted, her real name and overall history is never really discussed) that she heard about Two Trees academy. It is at Two Trees academy where she hopes to further excel and expand her knowledge of the great art.

Name: Dawn Mattings
Age: 20
Fighting style: student, karate or some other suggested form, brand new to the arts in general.
Physical description and appearance: 5'6" and 125lbs. 34C bra, measure 22-34. Long and straight dark brown hair, usually up either in a ponytail or twist or some updo. Hazel eyes, long lashes, freckles in the sun. Tanned and fit - runs and swims, only mild weight lifting for the arms, but was a drummer through secondary school so her arms are cut while still feminine.

Personality: Completely in the dark about the arts, Dawn was sent to the Two Trees Academy by her rich uncle who had cared for her since 16 when her parents had passed. She preferred college, but he thought that she should first learn to defend herself, and maybe he was right. They'd compromised, and she'd finished two years at a junior college before coming here, with plans to finish when she was acceptably proficient in the martial arts. She hadn't argued with Uncle much, but had no idea what was in store for her here.
Light and bubbly, often the life of the party, but has to be careful about how much she talks. Likes a maragarita, but has suspicions that she wont' be able to indulge that taste here, at least not often. Sometimes she has to stifle a laugh at inappropriate times. Wonders if there will be guys around, and social time available. She had a few boyfriends in school, and dated in college, having her own bit of fun, but never anything serious.
Kind of clueless and naive, especially about the arts, and most interested in the prospect of fun with the other students, or maybe even... but she wouldn't let herself think about that part unless the opportunity presented itself.
