27th of April and 19th of May.

I'm very close to getting my drivers' license now. On the 27th, I'll take the Slippery Road training (which is a mandatory part of Swedish drivers' ed, though up here where I live it's hardly necessary; 3/4 of the year is Slippery Road Training!), and on the 19th of May....

Pamparapaaaaaaaah!

I'll take my drivers' test.

One month left. One month of nervousness, nightly anxiety attacks, stomach cramps, and practise, practise, practise.

Here's what I want YOU to do to help:

Keep your fingers crossed. And if you're into any religion, do one of those prayer-thingies for me, please? It's better to cover all bases...

What about prayer-thingies for Swedish pedestrians, other drivers, passengers, rain deer and other animals? :)

Good going Svenskaflicka. :nana:

They're kinda like the cones I need to slalom around at Slippery Road training... you get extra points if you DON'T hit any of them.

I dunno...if they're young and spry, you should get points for managing to hit 'em. ;)

*crossing all feathers for 'Flicka (as well as the pedestrians)*

*crossing fingers*

Good luck! I know I was a damn nervous wreck the day I got mine.

*prays to deity of agnostics* ...err, wait...

Good luck.
Having taken this test too many times to count I know what you're feeling. (I passed every time so Iknow you'll pass.)

Much luck, Svenska! Fingers crossed for you, but no worries, you will do fine! :rose: :rose: :rose:

Here in the UK you can get a licence, valid on Swedish roads after an intensive one-week eight-hours-a-day training regime. It's called a Crash Course.

Svenska,
The slippery test is the FUN part. :) Everyone kept telling me that in high school, and when I did it I was nervous, but it was indeed fun. And you get to practise avoiding moose too. hehe

You'll do fine.

Oh, and my Swedish friend did an intense driver's course in UK. Cheaper than doing it in Sweden. She failed the first test I think for whatever reason, but then she took the next one in another town that was smaller. Voila! She's doing well driving in UK, but hasn't dared to drive in Sweden due to being used to left-hand traffic!

Actually, I think the purpose of the Slippery Road training is to teach you how to drive ELEGEANTLY down into the ditch.

As long as you were driving a Volvo you would pass. Good luck with both tests.

Og (formerly qualified to drive everything from steam rollers to tank transporters. The Ministry of Defence didn't bother with limits. If you could drive then you could drive anything. Scratch the paint and you'd be on a charge!)

M wanted to go with me to hold my hand, but couldn't get the day off from her part-time work.

Guess I'll have to bring my teddybear...

Just don't forget to buckle him in. ;)

You'll do beautifully, 'Flicka. I have faith in you. :rose:
