A twitter account called @WhoresofYore was suspended by twitter yesterday for the crime of having an avatar of a 17th Century painting of Nell Gwynne, mistress of King Charles II, that showed her nipples.
Following a storm of protest, the account was reinstated by the prudish censors at twitter, after the avatar had been edited to protect the lady's modesty.

and under that, lots of replies ridiculing twitter.
"How did you get Sir Peter Lely to amend his painting? Wasn't he busy turning in grave?"
