Turning off voting

Can you turn off voting if your story is still new or is this impossible? Do you have to wait until your story is no longer on the first page.

I know how to turn off voting and comments. However, my comment came about because I went to turn off voting on a story that is still “new” and couldn’t do so. I wanted to know if this was a glitch or if you actually can’t turn off voting when a story is still on the first page.

It seems to take a few hours or even a day before it turns off.

Turn it off and check it tomorrow. The stars should be gone.

Yes, the site refreshes different functionality at different times, so give it time.
