Turn off "favorites" in main activity page?

I check my "Activity" page daily, as a reliable way of learning when I get new comments. As of yesterday, it's started showing me each and every time one of my stories is 'favorited', which clutters up the page and essentially makes it unusable.

Is there some way I can turn that off? Why did it suddenly turn on? Please halp!

We plan to allow customization of notifications in the activity feeds in the future.

You said that it "suddenly turned on". Do you mean that Favorites activity didn't always show in your activity feed?

I am looking at my feed, and it's not very active since I only have test stories, but I can see old notifications showing people adding my stories to Favorites.

If you believe that the behavior changed, can you explain the change and also the specific activity tab you are looking at and also around what date you think it might have changed?

If anyone else reading this noticed a change, please let me know as well.

For quite some time, "All Activity" was only showing author favorites/follows and comments. Story favorites only showed up on the "Works Activity" tab.

All has now reverted to showing all activity again, which is what the OP is talking about.

Thanks! I thought I was going crazy.

If there's no way to turn off "favorites" (Which I'd really, really like) could "comments" and "favorites" at least have different colored icons? The only thing I care about is comments (since there seems to be no way to get them emailed to you, and I have 85 different stories up) and right now it's a real nightmare trying to find them.

Disappointing! My feed is now a nightmare to trawl through. I really wish there were *any* other kind of comment notification system.
