I know, wierd and to the point... but my uncle thinks garlic maybe too hot, so as clean and as 'boringish' as possible.

Sounds like a tumoric thread topic.

I wish you all the luck in the world with it. ~~toodles~~

Try looking up some of the recipes used by those who practise Rajah Yoga - they avoid garlic, onions, and hot spices as they're deemed incompatible with trying to achieve serenity.

Old white guy.

I can sneak garlic past him if he doesnt smell it.

Turmeric colours...
Turmeric also stains false teeth - my mother in law gave up certain types of curry because of it.

Trying to think... you could do bombay potatoes without the chilli and garlic (also omitting onion) - lovely tomatoey flavour with a hint of cumin (not hot spice)...

I think he's getting to the point that he may be able deal with the colour if he cant taste it, so thats a shot.

More annoying cause I learned to like heat with taste, but never cooked anything tat way so...

And I wish you didnt mention falsies, cause he has them too, and avoids eating anything he has to chew cause that hurts.

Okay - another use for turmeric is anywhere you want a yellow color (duh!) - and the pigment in it is oil/alcohol soluble.

There are a lot of Indina and Middle Eastern recipes which make a sort of omlettey-textured thing from chickpea flour and they often use turmeric for colouring - so do fish stews, and you can use it instead of saffron (adjusting quantities, of course).

Yeah, its the anti athritis qualities he's after... I've been able to slip garlic past him, but of course the yellowing isnt helpful. Its like hating Salmon and wanting Omega 3, but fucking that fishy taste.

I hate to say it, but capsules...

When it comes to fish oil, there are a few which have a coating which dissolves in the gut, nt the stomach, so you don;t get fishy burps.

He's good with the fish. Well, cept for the price... so hence when you pay 35 per kg, it would wanna be good naked.

You really want fishy farts if one comes out too early?

Well, this is my 70K post, so I need to make it worthy...

If I take the advice of Saul David Alinsky and I want to disrupt any proceeding, then yes, but only after a large meal of beans.

:D ;) ;)

I get my fish from the neighbor's pond.

He encourages it so their growth does not get stunted.

Who wants a stunt fish?

I was wondering why the push to include an ingredient especially if you want to do it in a way that doesn't add to the flavor but now that makes sense. I would imagine health food stores if this is a real holistic remedy that's being suggested has it in capsule form he could swallow?

I think he's got the idea after seeing that all the anti athritic stuff he cant have because he's lost a kidney, and everything else adds to the potassium he cant have.
