I was thinking of a story where a tough, Turkish gangster kind of moved in on Johnny Sack's turf from the Sopranos and started making Tony Soprano's life much harder. What do you think? There would be plenty of sex, including scenes he seduced a number of women attached to Tony's local syndicate.

Oddly enough, I've never heard of a Turkish gangster.

What about someone from the Russian mafia? Or, a Chinese gang? (Just throwing out ideas.)

I just thought Turkish would sound tougher, more exotic, and more intimidating. I even have a name picked out: Fazil Kotuk.

Cool, then go with that then.

I think it could be an interesting dynamic, although, I'm not a big fan of fan fiction stories.

Could you write it as simply two opposing gang leaders fighting for control of resources, money, territory, and women?

Pretty much. And the Sicilian mob is threatened by this new force.

Also, my dad spent some time in Turkey, in the Air Force, so he has told me a lot about Turkish culture. So I could include a lot of that in there.

Plenty of sex, of course. Rough sex, since he is not a gentle fellow.

And, of course, you could have some of the women taking a proactive role as well, and actively seducing men from the opposite gang for information.

A Turkish mobster would be a great character, especially if you really get into the culture and his roots and such; definitely exotic and intriguing. And Fazil Kotuk is a good name; has a bit of a Keyser Soze feel to it.

Thanks, I'm working on it. That's right, "Usual Suspects" has some Turkish characters. But my main inspiration was this alter ego character that I created on a different discussion board, with the name of Fazil Kotuk. He's a militant Turkish nationalist. Here, he's a gangster, but the difference with an ultranationalist/fascist is not that much. The alter ego was created to poke fun at fascism.
