Trying to fix a story

I'm revising my story "Make a Wish." In the story (link here), Julie's parents are comatose and not projected to come out of it. On the doctor's recommendation, they are moved to a hospice. What I need to know is, would that happen? Would a hospice take a comatose patient, or would they need to stay in a hospital?

For the purposes of the story, I'd like her parents to remain in a care facility, but they should be in the correct one.

Why did I not ask this at first, you may wonder. It never occurred to me to ask (this was the first story I ever posted) and no one ever called me on it until now, when I had a beta reader go over it.

Thanks.

My father was in hospice for eight weeks. Although he was alert on admission, he was comatose the final few days. If I can help, send me a PM.

Have you looked at a website to see if they mention any of the services offered?

As long as the patient is diagnosed as

terminal. I just through it with my mother. I took her home from the hospital and, although she was awake at the time, she went into a coma soon after coming home. Hospice stuck with her until the end.

Thank you, everyone, for sharing your stories and helping me out. This is very useful, and I'll feel more confident putting out a story with the details correct. *hugs*
