OOC: A while back somebody posted a thread about a truth or dare party but no one replied. I think it was a good idea just worded properly and a bit to contrictive and I thought I would re-post his idea but in broader brush strokes.

IC: They were holding a truth or dare party at my house, the whole gang said they were coming. I don't know why they set it up at my house, it wasn't the largest, it didn't even have a pool or hot-tub. But I t did have a cozy living room, I guess that's what they were after.

OOC: Feel free to jump in anytime when you enter your reply just add truth or dare so the next person knows what you want.

IC: I woundered what tonight we be like, I had already decided to start off with a truth.

Renee

IC: Renee walked into the house a bit hesistant. She barely knew these people, having just moved here from Georgia, and she wasn't totally sure what she was getting herself into. I mean, a truth or dare party? She carried a six-pack of long-necks tucked under one arm, her black platform sandals peeked out from beneath the flared leg of her jeans. She was petite and generally a smart-ass, a god-given trait passed down on her momma's side, along with the blonde hair and crystalline blue eyes. She'd never really had trouble making friends, but her job had forced her into this move just a week ago, and she'd been overloaded with the move.
With a toss of her long sunshine-blonde hair, she peeked around the next corner, hesistating just a moment before calling out ...

"Hello? Anyone here?"

Vikki

I pulled into the long driveway and shifted into park. I looked at the outside and wondered why the hell they decided to have a party at this house. It was a nice house, but it was on the small side.

"Oh well, they must've had their reasons." I said aloud to myself and opened the door to my car.

The cool breeze fanned against my bare legs. I got out and stood there, enjoying the moment. Then reached over and scooped up a brown bag filled with all kinds of goodies.

I adjusted my skirt and and slowly sauntered up to the door...which was standing wide open.

"Definately some hospitality here." I smiled and took advantage of my reflection in the glass of the door. Not a strand of my shoulder length black hair was out of place...

"Show time" I thought to myself and walked on in.

Renee

IC: No response was forthcoming, but a moment later, the sound of shoes on the front foyer reached her ears. She spun around and found herself face to face with a beautiful raven haired woman.

"Hi, I'm Renee," she volunteered, trying desperately to hide her drawl, but realizing it still came out Ra-Naaayy. "Is this your place? There was an absolutely adorable guy at the grocery store this morning who invited me out here ... I hope that's okay?"

Vikki

"No. My place is a lot bigger." I smiled. "I was invited by a coworker of mine. He said it was going to be a great party."

I walked to the entrance of the living room. "I have no idea who's house we're in..... or where they are. I don't think I would just leave my door open."

"Hello? Anyone home?" I called.

Serenity

Serenity had long blond hair with crimson streaks and cold, colbalt blue eyes. Her pale complexion and her choice of black eyeliner and deep purple lipstick gave her a semi-supernatural look, but it worked for her. She wore a crimson tank top with a see-through black shirt over it, and black leather pants (not scankily tight, but rather fairly loose about her legs), and black boots. She carried with her a total of 12 Hard Lemonaid beverages, and a small backpack purse of her own. Walking up the front steps and taking a step into the house, she encountered two other ladies, appartantly waiting for the host of the party.
"Hello," she states in an attempt to be friendly. "My name's Serenity. And you two are?"

Renee

"I'm Renee. I'm relatively new to town. Looks like we were invited to a truth or dare party at an empty house." She walked across the living room and plopped down in an oversized lounge chair, one jean-clad leg swinging across the arm as she pulled a long neck out of her six-pack and twisted off the cap. She took a long drink, then glanced at Vicki and Serenity. "Well, I suppose they'll show up sooner or later ... if not, we three just got one hell of a deal on a new house!"

Vikki

"Hi. I am Victoria... but all my friends call me Vikki." I walked over to the coffee table and plopped my 'goodie bag' onto it, then sat down on the arm of the couch.

"Not too bad of a place. It needs a decorator though." I looked around at the room. "Definately a bachelor's place. The big screen TV kinda gives that away." I flipped my hair back and smiled at the other two women.

"I say we give em a few minutes, and if whoever has this place doesn't show... we'll just kick off this party by ourselves."

Thomas

My chauffeur, James, pulled into the driveway of the house. It was quite a nice place, rather more elegant than most of the homes that held such parties. Not, however, within the range that would be acceptable to my circle of friends back in Mother England. That was why I had to keep my little hobby a secret, don't you know! I stepped out of the limousine and straightened my bow tie. Taking my cane in one hand I began walking to the door.

James took out the ice-packed bottles of bubbly I had brought with me for the evening. It was always a good way to break the ice, and allow the middle and lower classes to feel comfortable with me, alcohol definitely crossed the class boundaries better than anything else. The door was still ajar when I arrived, and looking within I could see three very delightful young ladies approaching what looked like the living room. Tonight looked like it would be wonderful.

I rapped my cane on the door and gave them the smile which had won me awards for being handsome. They stopped talking and turned to look at me in surprise. I doubt they had expected someone in a toff such as I to come to the party.

"Good evening, dear ladies," I said, looking from the dazzling blue eyes of one to the deeper orbits of another. "Thomas Forbes-Hamilton at your service. Might I ask which of you is hosting this get-together?"

I stumble into the living room and realize I've already got guests. "Sorry everybody/" I say shaking my watch wich emits an excusing rattle concerning my punctuality at being here o greet. "Please make yourselves comfortible" I sit down on the floor gesturing everyone to find a spot on the couch or one of the two recliners or just a peice of floor. "So who'd like to start?"

Thomas

I instructed James to place the champers and a set of crystal glasses in a quiet corner and wait in the car. I stood and walked over to open the first bottle, pouring five glasses and passing them around as our host took a seat.

"Sir, I know you American chaps are fond of equal rights, and rightly so... However, I presume chivalry has not died here as yet?"

At the slight look I smiled. "Ladies are always before gentlemen. Now it is just for our gentle friends to decide upon who should lead."

Renee

Renee thought her tongue might jump out of her mouth at any moment. The three of them had been discussing just how to get the party underway, when a devilishly handsome man, dressed to the nines and sporting a cane had rapped on the door. When she turned, she found herself treated to a wickedly beautiful smile, and an accent that did funny things to the pit of her stomach.

Realizing she was still sprawled across the chair leg like some sort of heathen, she quickly turned, pulling herself to sit on the edge of the chair, her knees together. Her mouth was open to tell the newcomer that they had no idea who the house belonged to ... when another man entered the room, a bit flustered.

"Sorry everybody, please make yourselves comfortable," his voice held a lowered, raspy quality, as if he was aggravated or just woke up. Then again, maybe he just had one hell of a sexy voice ....

Belatedly, she realized that Thomas was holding a glass of champagne out in front of her ... she felt a heated blush climb up her cheeks and wondered if he had been standing there long enough for everyone to notice her staring. 'Sweet Jesus, Ren, get it together already!' her mind raged at her.

"No thanks, I'm good for now," she said, nodded towards her beer. "But I might take you up on the offer a little later on."

She took a deep breath. Okay, what better way to get it over with than to dive right in?

"I'm Renee. I'll take a truth if anyone has anything to ask?"

Serenity

Gratefully I take a glass of champagn, thanking the man kindly. I find myself a place to sit and look over everyone in the room briefly. I feel slightly out of place...like some punk teenager at a formal party. Oh well...I could always leave if it got too uncomfortable.
Taking a sip of the champagn to loosen myself up a bit, I await someone to ask Renee a question, as I have none of the moment.

"O.k. Renee, let's start it out real easy" I say in a voice that doesn't seem to get any smoother through use. "I bet I already know but is that lovly golden hair natural or from a bottle?"
" I'll take a truth from somebody."

Renee

Renee grinned.

"Au naturale ... just the way I like it." After a moment's pause, she pinkened once again. 'Dear god, did I just say that out loud?' she thought. She took another slow drink, her eyes perusing the group.

A slow smile spread across her host's face, and she felt herself relax just a bit.

"Okay, truth huh? I'm sorry, I don't remember you giving your name ... what were you really doing upstairs?"

"Oh sorry I'm Jake."
"What was I doing?" I figited. "Well I hate to be a bore but I was just taking a nap."
I say not meeting Renee's gaze. "Oh all right! fair is fair, just before my nap, I... well...made sure you gorgious ladies wouldn't effect me to much to soon."

Renee bit the inside of her lip to keep from grinning. Why he looked almost sheepish about it!! When her mind created an unintentional vision of him upstairs ... and what he had been doing ... she squirmed a bit in her seat, noticing a sudden increase in heat and moisture.

"Nothing wrong with that, Jake, least you were honest! Um, so who's next?"

She sent a sideways glance towards Serenity who was slowly sipping her champagne, then glanced at Vickie and Thomas ... both seemed a bit uncomfortable and avoided meeting her gaze. Tilting the beer bottle to her lips once more, she felt her gaze return to Jake, that same unbidden image of him gloriously naked came to tease at the forefront of her mind. There was a warm sparkle in her crystalline blue eyes as she slid her lips purposefully over the rim of the bottle, closed her eyes, and took a long drink.

Jake watched as Renee played segestivly with her beer botttle.
(holy shit! I guess upstairs was a rather wasted effort!) Jake thought.

Renee

"Weeellllll .... looks like everyone is still a bit hesitant about answering, so I'll take another truth if anyone has an idea?"

Serenity

I decided that I needed to speak up or the night wouldn't be enjoyable. "Okay, Renee...here's a question. Do you currently have a significant other, and if not, what caused you to break up?" I hoped I wasn't touching a bad subject, but I had a little thing about knowing peoples' past...a quirk of mine I wished I could rid myself of. (When Renee answers, Serenity offers to take a dare).

Thomas

So, the party had already brought out one or two interesting answers. Our host had chosen to relieve himself to ease back his hair-trigger. That, on looking at the ladies, seemed an understandable decision. For myself, numerous cold showers at Eton had taught me enough about self-restraint. And the beautiful lady opposite me was a natural blonde. Well, the truth was I had a preference for redheads, but just as with high weight, some ladies wear it to perfection, and she had to be far more desirable than any of the blondes I knew from England.

The question now posed had one of two obvious answers. Unless the lady had a severe personality fault, and that had certainly not been evidenced, she either had a significant other (Oh I do love those trendy Americanisms), or her ex was a buffoon. I waited on her answer as I sipped gently from my champagne.

OOC: Suggestion - Don't most truth/dare games have the person who just answered or performed the dare choose someone? If you're wanting to move quickly the way you're doing it MIGHT be quicker, but it could end up with people left out. Just a thought.

Renee

Renee felt herself cringe. Taking a deep breath, she answered as honestly as she knew how.

"I was in a long term relationship ... almost six years. Found out the hard way that he was fooling around on me, and we had a nasty little breakup a few weeks before my job transfered me here."

Renee offered a half-smile and a shrug at the round of slightly pitying glances now turned her way. Truthfully, the betrayal had hurt, hurt a lot ... but as her momma would say, 'what's done is done.' She straightened her spine a little and tried to think of a dare. She was horrible at trying to think up things for others to do, it was so much easier to come up with intimate questions to ask!

"Okay, this may be a tad childish, but it's all I can think of at the moment ... your dare is to pick someone in this room, male OR female, to take a body shot off of. Your choice of where on the body, your choice of alcohol. And whenever it gets back to me, I'll take another truth. I'll think I'll have a few more beers before venturing into a dare."

Serenity

I glanced about the room...not really worried for myself who I was going to take a body shot off, but rather worried with who wouldn't be offended. My eyes fell on Vikki. It wasn't that I preferred women all that much (though they did understand me better), but body shots were easiest to do off of breasts. "You wouldn't mind, would you, Vikki?"

Thomas: Interesting Friends

As Serenity began seeking a partner for her dare, I leaned closer to Renee and whispered to her.

"Dear lady, you are better off without that fool. He was a cad. However, perhaps I can offer you something which would be more helpful than the sympathy that you have so far received. I have certain friends who would be more than willing to have a... well let us say a persuasive discussion with him about the appropriate way to treat a lady such as yourself. Believe me, it is the kind of conversation that he would not forget in a long time. I could even arrange for photographic or videomatic evidence of his... penance to be given to you if it would please you."

With that I sat back. Very few ladies actually wanted that to happen to their exes, which surprised me. To my mind such men did not deserve the title of man. They were villains of the worst kind, caring nothing about the finer feelings of a woman. They would take the finest diamond of love and grind it to paste. That is why I always offered to have them shown the error of their ways.

"Oh, and I should be happy to entertain either a dare or a truth when sweet serenity has taken her drink."

Vikki

I wouldn't mind at all." I smiled at her.

I enjoyed watching people.... and I was having fun observing the group. Serenity was definately attractive enough... and I didn't mind the occasional play with another woman, but usually it was just to stimulate a man.

I loved her lipstick though, and for a brief moment I imagined lip shaped marks in that exact shade all over my body. I shook the thought off and moved closer to where she sat.

"What flavor and where from?" I asked and winked at her.
