"Trust Me" are two scary words when said by George Bush

George bush says trust me to his base. This is a scary thought, trusting him. He was repeatedly proven he cannot be trusted. Deception and/or irresponsibility, depending how you see it, run rampantly within his pack. Even the blind faithful have to admit this is true. Think about the another time he hired a friend. He hired his pal, Mike Brown, to be director of FEMA. He put someone in an office that is tasked with ensuring the safety of every one of us but did not think prior experience or a verified background check were necessary for such a job. As a result, over one thousand people died. Is this a responsible action? Repeatedly fairness is overlooked in granting government contracts. By and large they are awarded without competition to a multi million dollar company that the vice president of this country headed until he had to give up the position in order to run for office. A company that, incidentally, owes our country billions of dollars, suspected of murdering those who disagree with it; accused of crimes in this and other nations and brought to trial and found guilty as charged more than once.
There are many instances where the public's right to know the truth, the whole unambiguous truth, is disregarded. Remember the plastic turkey the president served up in a Thanksgivimg photo op in Iraq? This is not the only time this president relied on Hollywood techniques. There was the costume he wore when he declared victory a few years ago; victory for a war soldiers are still returning home from dead. the PSA's that failed to mention they were made up productions with actors depicting real life scenes and what you were watching was not an factual real life setting. Some think this is deliberate misrepresentation, yet another lie told to the public meant to deceive those who are meant to be served. Others think it's great pr and advertising, To those who think the latter, how can it be certain this is not the same, a scene where what is not said is just as vital as what is being said?
Additionally, there is the was in Iraq. Was the American public deliberately fed false information in order to attack Iraq? Was the president an innocent victim who went against the United Nations because he unknowingly trusted bad, inconclusive information, a bloke who lacked the responsibility or common sense not to need more conclusive data like the others in the U.N? Is he a man guided by determination who did what he had to in order to achieve his desired end result? Can he be trusted?
This president has modified scientific reports so they diminish the dangers of global warming and suit his purposes. He has negatively changed the way the world sees us. Several of his cabinet members have displayed questionable ethics while scores of others who don't agree with or cannot morally justify his views have quit or been fired. Publicly, the president exhibits an unsurpassed level of arrogance and grammatical illiteracy at the same time.
I think the democrats are in for a surprise if they think Harriet will be an asset if her nomination to the supreme court is approved. George Bush did not nominate a hotshot evangelical corporate lawyer because she is ethical and fair and sits somewhere in the middle, not the far right. He nominated her because she fits his agenda in some way or another. I am sure when the time comes we will know what way that is. If she is ethical and fair that comes as a bonus to him, to everyone, but make no mistake that is not why she was nominated. Conveniently she has no background to check out. To those who, like me, are fed up and disgusted by what this administration has done to our country, lets hope she is fair. To those who see this president as someone guided by determination, who knows how to use media to his advantage and nothing more, I ask one thing of you. Go look in the mirror and ask yourself, is that the kind of person you'd want for a son or daughter in law? Are those the values this country was founded on?
