With the Republican party seeming to splinter will it be replaced by the Tea Party led Trumpublican Party?

Texas GOP ‘lifer’ resigns from party over Trump: ‘No redemption in being one of the good Nazis

Three decades after becoming a Republican Party activist, a member of the York Township Republican Committeemen’s Organization resigned from the party citing the rise of Donald Trump as GOP’s choice for president in the November election.

In a resignation letter posted to his blog, GOPLifer, Chris Ladd writes about his longtime history with the party in Texas, including his friendship with former Texas Gov, Rick Perry, which dates back to their college days.

But now Ladd has had enough, and wrote a devastating takedown of the Republican Party including some of its leaders.

“Evasion and cowardice has prevailed over conscience. We are now, and shall indefinitely remain, the Party of Donald Trump,” he continued. “I will not contribute my name, my work, or my character to an utterly indefensible cause. No sensible adult demands moral purity from a political party, but conscience is meaningless without constraints.”

“A party willing to lend its collective capital to Donald Trump has entered a compromise beyond any credible threshold of legitimacy. There is no redemption in being one of the ‘good Nazis,'” he concluded.

Ladd then added a YouTube video of fellow Texan Willie Nelson singing, “The Party’s Over.”

The party has to soften its social stances, which I think we saw hints of last night. Fortunately the ultra conservatives who hate gays and pass ignorant laws about bathrooms are a dying breed. One can only hope that we will soon have an option in the voter booth that is both fiscally responsible yet not socially intrusive.

Maybe Johnson is your candidate? :)

What does that mean?

You mean austerity? Cutting social spending?

Yes, Jack. Johnson got my vote in '12 and will likely get it in November.

Under, I think there are a lot of issues with how we collect and spend tax money. Austerity is part of it, but that's not it. One example is our corporate tax structure - the US ranks among the top corporate tax rates and are shocked and appalled when companies move jobs and operations abroad. We should instead create a tax situation that invites corporations rather instead of policing them to keep money in the states to be highly taxed.

I'm also against the notion of bailouts. Banks, auto industry, Puerto Rico...we're setting a dangerous precident with the notion of too big to fail.

Good job! I was fooled into thinking that every vote counted in the fight to repeal Obamacare.

Yeah, but I'm sympathetic to the people of Puerto Rico because it happens to converge with the Zika virus outbreak. That's a vicious hit to a tourist economy.

The effective tax rate is one of the lowest in the world. They move their operations overseas for low wages not low taxes.

In the neoliberal era when taxes on the rich have been lowered drastically and consistently, investment has dwindled.

The theory fails on the evidence test.

I'm interested to see what shakes out. I'm assuming the Libertarians will exit. Will the TEA Party split off and make it official ? Will the Dixiecrats be resurrected? Will the NeoCons become a new party?

Will the Trumpublicans age and die without ever reaching the Whitehouse?

But Donald Trump said US taxes were the highest in the universe, and he ought to know. He pays those taxes every year, I think. Haven't actually seen his returns yet.
