Trump's vaccine roll-out... Operation Turtle Speed

Just made an appointment to get the first of my two Biden vaccine injections. Earliest general availability for general public is January 18th.

And people are surprised? Let's put a McDonald's employee in charge of distribution...would you like fries with that?

We’ll start to see herd immunity once it’s past the 250 million mark. So far, we have 19 million cases and 2 million vaccinations.

Two cases of the NEW strain, originally found in the UK, found in Colorado. Those infected have no travel history. Wonder how that will affect the vaccine rollout.

Sorry, I don't think there's any way this is going to be opened to the general public by 18 January. Do let us know if that worked out.

I'm high on the list by underlying medical condition and almost there by 75, but I'm optimistically looking to April as my first chance at it. And I'm content with that if all those who have to directly serve the public have been taken care of. I can (and do) almost totally shelter without problem.

It's all over and has been here for some time. The Trump era has made comprehensive testing a total failure in the United States.

Whelp, you were right. Just got cancelled. A Houston Methodist Hospital System employee posted a signup link this morning, not realizing it was for hospital employees only.

Looks like I'll still be at risk for the Trump virus a bit longer.

So... math would say...ten times the current deaths ?

Probably not ten times, since confirmed cases are fewer than actual cases. Especially last winter and spring, people who were only mildly sick never got tested. We've probably had at least 40 million cases in the U.S.

But herd immunity in the absence of a vaccine would kill at least 2 million Americans.

As for the topic, who is the least bit surprised? This administration has always confused public relations with actually doing one's job. They got the headlines for the rollout of the vaccine, declared victory, and hit the golf course. Total incompetence from top to bottom.

So, is all this chaos in the hospitals, economic ruin, and death part of Trump making America Great Again?

The Lit Deplorables said the Trump Virus was an overblown hoax devised by the Democrats that would end on the day after the election. Yeah, they sure called that one.

The Democrat progressive socialist authoritarian posters on LIT are circling the event horizon of an intellectual black hole where facts become fallacies and fallacies become facts, where space, time or any sense of chronology have become illusionary and delusionary. Happy New Year.

He did.

He turned it over to the States like he should have and was planed.

Stop Trump Bashing for Made up reasons.

Did FDR turn WWII over to the states? Remind me.

An WTF does that have do do with ANYTHING?

FDR is dead.

You truly are the most ignorant Texan on this board.

FDR led us out of national crisis, the Great Depression. He did not just leave it up to the states and the private sector-- that had been his predecessor's approach, who kept telling people that prosperity was just around the corner. Sound familiar, doofus?

But not for POTUS to do.

Actually, correction! Congress declares war, POTUS is the CiC and is the civilian authority over the department of Defense. Congress is still part of the federal government.

Trump policies brought on a booming economy. FDR like all presidents had to work with and through Congress. Also worked with manufacturing and banking to manage a WW and a depression.

Your true authoritarian colors are showing through, shitcan the constitution and go with your God King Sleepy Joe! Biden doesn’t have the savvy nor the horsepower to finish up the China virus pandemic.

.
Goddamn Trump humpers are thick.

Wars, natural disasters, pandemics, human caused disasters, etc, fall under the responsibility of the federal government, and ultimately the POTUS.

Trump does not get a free pass.

To illustrate just how ridiculous right wing resistance to holding Trump accountable is, just imagine their fire breathing reaction if Obama had behaved EXACTLY like Trump under the same circumstances.

SAD!!!

No...math says around 1.5 million...maybe 2 million deaths. Ten times would be 3.5 to 4 million Once we have an Administration that does what they can do, it will drop down to 2000 deaths per day.

This, of course, assumes and does not count potential deaths due to long-term issues.

Finally...once again...there is no such thing as "herd immunity". It simply does NOT exist. We vaccinate 98-99% of all children for polio. Yet it still exists. It will be the same as with any virus. We have been only able to eradicate one virus...smallpox...and that is because there was no asymptomatic cases of smallpox
