Trump's splendid little war

Chud celebrates how corrupt Trump is, because it upsets the libs (who he's been told to refer to as communist and like a good little chud he obeys).

Cry more about the orange man taking down your beloved comrade Maduro.......you fucking COMMUNIST losers :D

Liberals are you superiors and all on team MAGA like Trump himself.

YOU are a fucking socialist and don't rate that high.....you're down there with the tape worms and ticks.

I’m thrilled that Maduro is gone. So are the people of Venezuela, by all accounts. That's a good thing.

I’m worried, given the historical precedents in China, Cuba, Iran, Nicaragua, Syria, and other countries, that what comes after him might be worse.

What is the constitutional authority for this? Where do we get the authority to enforce US law in foreign countries?

Isn't Congress supposed to declare war?

Nation building is always a bad idea.

I know they plan to have an election down the road, but why put Maduro's VP in charge (even temporarily)? (BTW, his name doesn't sound very Venezuelan.) Why not the winner of the election?

If we’re justifying it under the Monroe Doctrine, when are we going in to topple the Cuban regime?

If we’re justifying it under international law and/or claiming authority to enforce US law against foreign regimes, when are we going in to arrest Xi Jinping?

If “we’re running Venezuela” now, does that mean we run Citgo? Is that what this is about?

Who's paying for this?

I hope this turns out to be a short-term thing like Reagan's intervention in Grenada or LBJ's intervention in the Dominican Republic, not another endless war like Iraq or Afghanistan.

Did the president say it is a war? Is the Department of War warring? Is SecWar drinking while bombing?

War on drug cartels and Yes and yes. And Pootin invaded Ukraine. And Donnie and Epstein shared a girlfriend. I could go on.

It could be a Grenad/Dominican Republic type operation, depending on how we execute it. Hopefully, it's not Iraq.
The only thing that makes Venezuela less volatile than Iraq is a lack of important religious/ethnic divisions. Otherwise:
1) There is oil to fight over.
2) There are drugs to fight over.
3) There is leftist vs. rightist politics to fight over.
Not a formula for any stable settlement in the near future.

I'm not so sure about that. Nobody seems inclined to fight us about this so far.

It could escalate into that, but it can easily be short-term like the operations I mentioned.
