First, if you were not so ill-informed, you would know that this tighter rule enforcement does not go into effect until April 2020. I double checked my calendar. That's a bit after Christmas.

Which brings this to the main problems with your claim that tighter enforcement of food stamp qualifications "could cut hundreds of thousands from food stamps."

First, it is not the case that "Trump administration tightens work requirements for SNAP." The work requirement remain what they have been for many years. What has changed is the level of regional unemployment necessary for a state to grant an exemption. That has been increased to 6%. Given that the national unemployment rate is closer to 3%, this is not an unreasonable requirement.

Second, the "work requirements for SNAP" are not onerous. They are, roughly, that anyone between 18 and 49, unless they are caring for dependants such as children or disabled adults, must work or be in job training for 20 hours a week or more. These "hundreds of thousands" that you are so concerned about have until April to make this happen. If they lose their SNAP benefits, it's because they chose not to work or get training. It's their fault, not the government's.

I'm sorry that I had to embarrass you like this, but I though it important that accurate information be put forth. To avoid such embarrassment in the future, I would suggest before you post like this again, that you make sure you have your facts straight.
