Over the past several days, Trump has told black voters that they might as well pull the lever for him because they’re living in squalor and couldn’t possibly be doing any worse than how they’re doing right now.

“You live in your poverty, your schools are no good, you have no jobs, 58 percent of your youth is unemployed, what the hell do you have to lose?” Trump said during a rally last week.

CNN’s Gary Tuchman went out and talked to several black voters in Akron, Ohio and found that most of them were decidedly unimpressed by his overtures.

“I think he’s stupid,” said one voter when asked to respond to Trump telling black voters they have nothing to lose by voting for him.

Their idea of helping poor people is to give them money to make more poor financial decisions with.
