We start of the Week with a surprise,... for Mitch McConnell.

GOP-led Congress starting to worry about its role in the Trump era

http://www.rawstory.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/cbs_ftn_mitch.jpg

WASHINGTON — It's what congressional Republicans had long dreamed about: a majority in both chambers to advance conservative policies and a president from the same party to sign them into law.

But the Trump White House isn't turning out exactly the way they envisioned.

The GOP establishment is experiencing whiplash after a week of President Donald Trump bulldozing through the norms of policy and protocol — dashing off executive orders without warning, escalating a diplomatic crisis with the country's closest southern neighbor, triggering global confusion with a new refugee policy and generally hijacking party leaders' agenda and replacing it with his own.

Rather than the hoped-for collaborative new relationship between the White House and Congress, GOP officials complain that Trump is brushing aside their advice, failing to fully engage on drafting tough legislative packages on tax reform and Obamacare, and bypassing Congress by relying on executive actions, something they frequently complained about under President Barack Obama.

Yes Mitch is finding his dream of a compliant Elephant in the White House is not exactly what he got with the Trumpanzies infesting the Oval Office. It seems that Congress is regarded as the subservient branch by the Emperor Trumpski. There to scrape the shit off his Executive Orders and cheer this 'Brilliant' leadership.

Life is a bitch, when you are stupid Mitch!

Morning Joe blames ‘very young’ Trump advisor for travel ban disaster: ‘This weekend was a disgrace’

The Monday spin is to set up the 'Weakend Disgrace" as an unforced error by a ignorant staffer, not the Trumpanzi in Chief.

President Donald Trump’s foreign policy team issued a warning over the weekend to the White House staff, according to MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough.

“We hope the staff, the young staff members at the White House, enjoyed their time trying to make policy on their own without talking to us, because that will never happen again,” Scarborough said, paraphrasing what those officials told him during extensive meetings. “The exact quote was, ‘The chain is tightening quickly.'”

The host of “Morning Joe” said top officials in the executive branch were particularly angry at Stephen Miller, the senior White House advisor for policy, for restructuring the National Security Council to include Steve Bannon, the president’s chief strategist.

The pair have reportedly been writing executive orders without consulting federal agency lawyers or lawmakers, which has rankled top officials within the executive branch.

“You’ve got a very young person in the White House on a power trip thinking that you can just write executive orders and tell all of your other cabinet agencies to go to hell, and Washington’s in an uproar this morning — forget about what’s happening in the street — because Stephen Miller decided he was going to do this without going through the regular inter-agency process,” Scarborough said.

Scarborough harshly lectured Miller, a former staffer for Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) and Trump’s speechwriter, about the realities of working in Washington, D.C.

“By the time you’re 35, maybe you’ll know how Washington and the White House really works — if you’re still around, I hope you’re not,” he said. “Because this weekend was a disgrace, and it’s all on your shoulders.”

He said the president did not admit the travel ban on visitors from many majority-Muslim nations had been a mistake, but Scarborough said Trump’s advisors were upset with the process for issuing the executive order.

However they try to spin this fiasco, it was Trump that signed it with a smug smile with his circle of Trumpanzis looking on. The Buck stops with Trump he is responsible, or should be held responsible in any event.

“There was shock across the city Friday night and, I will tell you, with this foreign policy team, they’re ready for it to gel,” Scarborough said. “None of these guys got where they got by engaging in guesswork or by having a sloppy management process.”

Poor Management? Who is supposed to manage the Trumpanzis?

The internet shreds Trump’s new ‘idiotic’ deregulation order for using the logic of an 8-year-old

Trump declares Cabinet Meetings will be now termed "Cluster Fucks"

CNBC announced Monday that the Donald Trump administration will be signing an executive order that mandates for every regulation passed, two things must arbitrarily be deregulated.

The order was part of a campaign promise that Trump reiterated last week when he told business leaders, “we think we can cut regulations by 75 percent, maybe more.”

An example of regulations that are currently on the books for the U.S. include a ban on child labor, the Clean Air and Clean Water Acts, the Endangered Species Act, The Americans with Disabilities Act, and there are workplace regulations that require things like fire exits, heat, bathrooms etc.

Rep. Gregory Meeks (D-NY) called the order “irrational,” “not thought out,” and “he probably hasn’t had any consultation with anybody in his administration, much less members of Congress.”

Many online noted that Trump seems to be governing from a “Good Housekeeping” manual for cleaning. Others found the order simply absurd and ripe for mockery:

CNN analyst: Experts ‘alarmed’ by ‘stone-cold crazy’ decision to put Steve Bannon on security council

Steve Bannon’s placement on the National Security Council is highly unusual, according to CNN’s chief national security correspondent.

Bannon, who serves as President Donald Trump’s chief strategist, was elevated to the inter-agency group that coordinates national security decisions, while the director of National Intelligence and chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff were downgraded.

“Those are both Senate-confirmed positions, the White House strategist — that’s the title of Bannon — not Senate-confirmed,” said CNN’s Jim Sciutto, who served as a foreign policy advisor to former President Barack Obama. “You had additional voices piping in on who these seats at the table would be, you have a good sense of (their) views and the experience.”

‘Crazy like a fox’: Mental health experts try to get inside Trump’s mind

STAT interviewed 10 psychiatrists and psychologists - some supporters of Trump, some not - about the president's behavior and what it might say about his personality and mental health. All are respected in their field and close observers of Trump. They based their views on his books, public statements, appearances, and tweets, but emphasized that they have no firsthand knowledge of Trump.

As a result, they can't rule out that the president's actions are part of an intentional political strategy, and not a reflection of particular mental states. After all, his confrontational style and egotism - adorning buildings around the globe with his name - served him well in business and brought him to the White House.

Still, even at arm's-length, the analyses were strikingly consistent. Several of the experts, for instance, advanced the view that, as New York University psychologist John Montgomery put it, Trump shows "compulsive 'more-than' behavior," meaning a desperate need to keep from feeling, even fleetingly, that he might not be superior to everyone else.

In layman's terms, "He's not crazy, he's nuts!"

Well what has the Trumpster been up too?

Oh he fired the Acting AG for following the law? That is sure to have some blow back.

‘Young Turk’ Cenk Uygur calls for Trump’s impeachment over Sally Yates: ‘What choice do we have?

Cenk Uygur of “The Young Turks” said Donald Trump had triggered a constitutional crisis with only one real remedy: impeachment.

Trump fired the acting attorney general, Sally Yates, on Monday night when the Obama appointee refused to disobey a court order halting enforcement of an executive order banning travelers from certain majority-Muslim nations from entering the U.S.

“A federal court tells you, you are not allowed to do that,” Uygur said. “Do you respect the rule of law or don’t you respect it?”

Uygur accused the Trump administration of violating the constitutional check on executive power by the judicial branch — and he said the legislative branch should execute its own check on executive overreach.

“We have a President who says ‘I don’t follow the law, I don’t care, I’m already sitting in the seat,’” Uygur said. “There really isn’t any other legal action to be taken against the President who won’t follow the law other than impeachment.”

“If you break the law and you refuse to comply with court orders, what choice do we have?” he added.

It is true however that Ms. Yates serves "at the pleasure of the President," so he has the power to fire her. No one can deny that fact. It is also evident that Trumpy confuses the role of President with his fantasy of "Emperor of America."

Keep up the pressure on this Imperial Shitgibbon, Cenk. The Rethuglican Congress will act when the people put enough pressure on them. I understand the Congressional Switchboard is overwhelmed.

Tapper uses Spicer’s own words to nail Trump administration’s ironic objection to the word ‘ban'

Jake Tapper cornered Sean Spicer on Monday over the White House Press Secretary’s insistence that Donald Trump’s immigration executive order is not a Muslim ban, using the president’s—and press secretary’s—own words against that administration talking point.

“Chaos has of course rippled from Washington D.C. to airports and foreign capitols around the world,” Tapper said, referring to the Trump Administration’s decision to fire acting Attorney General Sally Yates over her refusal to defend the executive order. “Today, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer was complaining the members of the media are unfairly using the term ‘ban’ to describe the president’s action.”

Tapper then showed a clip of Spicer’s press conference, wherein the press secretary scolded the media for using the word “ban.”

It is "UN FAIR" to use the President's Quotes to make fun of the President and his little dog too!

“Okay, everybody clear now?” Tapper asked. “Nobody should follow the lead of the biased media and call the executive action a ban. Instead, follow the White House and call it a ban.”

Ha ha ha, Stick it in a break it off, Jake!

Reuters orders reporters to cover Trump like an authoritarian regime: Expect ‘physical threats’

The Reuters news agency this week recognized the challenges of covering Donald Trump’s presidency by comparing it to authoritarian regimes like Egypt, Yemen and China.

“It’s not every day that a U.S. president calls journalists ‘among the most dishonest human beings on earth’ or that his chief strategist dubs the media ‘the opposition party’,” Reuters Editor-in-Chief Steve Adler wrote in a message to staff on Tuesday. “It’s hardly surprising that the air is thick with questions and theories about how to cover the new Administration.”

He cited the organization’s work in “Turkey, the Philippines, Egypt, Iraq, Yemen, Thailand, China, Zimbabwe, and Russia” as an example of how to report on the Trump administration.

‘Impeach Trump Now’ campaign racks up more than a half million signatures

The “Impeach Donald Trump Now” campaign, which called for the president’s impeachment for “serious violations” and “unprecedented level of corruption” since he took the office, has gained over half a million signatures.

The campaign, an independent public interest initiative, is led by nonpartisan and nonprofit Free Speech for People and RootsAction.

“As of January 20, 2017, President Trump’s refusal to divest from his business interests has placed him in direct violation of the U.S. Constitution’s Foreign Emoluments Clause and on a collision course with the Constitution’s Domestic Emoluments Clause and with the federal STOCK Act [Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge Act of 2012],” according to the campaign’s website.

The campaign claims that Trump’s business holdings in the U.S. and across the world show conflicts of interest, which violate the American constitution. Ron Fein, legal director of Free Speech For People, on Tuesday alleged that Trump is making profit at public expense.

‘Who’s next? Switzerland?’: Internet dumbfounded by Trump fighting with US ally Australia

In a call with Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull last Saturday, Donald Trump reportedly blasted the foreign leader over a refugee agreement, and bragged about the size of his electoral win, the Washington Post reports.

According to the report, Trump, who spoke with five world leaders throughout the day, told Turnbull his “was the worst call by far,” including the one he shared with Russian president Vladimir Putin.

As reports of the call surfaced, Internet users took to Twitter to mock the president’s diplomatic skills:

Well, who needs Australia anyway? So when does he pivot and start acting like he knows anything?

Trump OK’d Yemen raid without sufficient intel — leaving SEAL and child dead: military officials

The U.S. military said on Wednesday it was looking into whether more civilians were killed in a raid on al Qaeda in Yemen on the weekend, in the first operation authorized by President Donald Trump as commander in chief.

U.S. Navy SEAL William “Ryan” Owens was killed in the raid on a branch of al Qaeda, also known as AQAP, in al Bayda province, which the Pentagon said also killed 14 militants. However, medics at the scene said about 30 people, including 10 women and children, were killed.

U.S. Central Command said in a statement that an investigating team had “concluded regrettably that civilian non-combatants were likely killed” during Sunday’s raid. It said children may have been among the casualties.

Central Command said its assessment “seeks to determine if there were any still-undetected civilian casualties in the ferocious firefight.”

As Sunday’s firefight intensified, the raiders called in Marine helicopter gunships and Harrier jump jets, and then two MV-22 Osprey vertical takeoff and landing aircraft to extract the SEALs.

One of the two suffered engine failure, two of the officials said, and hit the ground so hard that two crew members were injured, and one of the Marine jets had to launch a precision-guided bomb to destroy it.

Trump follows Bush and Obama into foreign adventures that accomplish fuck all and kill lots of civilians. # Notmypresident!

White House’s Steve Bannon thinks war with China is imminent: ‘There’s no doubt about that’

The United States will go to war with China in “five to 10 years” over the South China Sea dispute, according to Steve Bannon, who is President Donald Trump’s chief political strategist.

These comments by Bannon were made last March, but they resurfaced Thursday at a time when Washington and Beijing’s relations have soured after Trump questioned the "One China" policy and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said China should be barred from islands in the contested region.

“We’re going to war in the South China Sea in five to 10 years, aren’t we? There’s no doubt about that. They’re taking their sandbars and making basically stationary aircraft carriers and putting missiles on those. They come here to the United States in front of our face — and you understand how important face is — and say it’s an ancient territorial sea,” Bannon said on a radio show hosted for Breitbart in March 2016

Maybe Pence won't be as batshit crazy as Trump with Bannon pulling his strings?

‘He’s our president’: Actor Matthew McConaughey says it’s time to embrace Donald Trump

“True Detective” actor Matthew McConaughey thinks it’s time Hollywood embraces Donald Trump. After all, he is the President of the United States for the next four years.

In an interview with ChannelFi, the 47-year-old actor was asked by the interviewer about Trump. “Every single American actor or arty type who comes over to London dumps on Trump. You all completely hate him. Do you think it’s time that maybe Hollywood and the cultural elite of America gave this guy a break?”

The Oscar winner replied, “Well, they don’t have a choice now. He’s our President. And it’s very dynamic and as divisive of an inauguration and time that we’ve ever had. At the same time, it’s time for us to embrace, shake hands with this fact, and be constructive with him over the next four years.”

Nope, No, Niet, Never, not even with your dick Matthew.

Trump didn't bother to show up in Situation Room for botched Yemen raid

He might have soiled his PJ's, and you know how hard it is to get shit out of gold lame.

During the campaign, it was easy to get tired of how many times Hillary Clinton repeated stories of tense nights in the Situation Room, where she along with President Obama and other members of his staff, waited for word on some military action from the far side of the world. No one is going to get tired of hearing those stories from Donald Trump. Because for the first military action that Trump launched as commander in chief, he didn’t bother to show up.

According to Press Secretary Sean Spicer, Trump was not in the Situation Room for the raid.

All Presidents Reach Majority Disapproval At Some Point, But Trump's 8-Day Record Is Unprecedented

The result? Trump seems to be having the shortest honeymoon ever, with his disapproval rating rising above 50 percent in just eight days, according to data compiled by polling organization Gallup. At the time he assumed office, 45 percent approved of him, 45 percent disapproved and 10 percent were undecided.

The Current RCP Average of polls show Trump with a 47.3 Disssapproval and 44.7% Approval, and sinking Biggly!

In comparison, Trump's predecessor former President Barack Obama's disapproval rating crossed the 50 percent threshold in 936 days into his presidency, as people were unnerved by the prospects of a federal government shutdown. Former Democratic President Bill Clinton took 573 days to become unpopular. Former President ronald Reagan took 727 days, while both former Presidents George Bush took over 1,000 days to hit majority disapproval (G.W. Bush at 1,205, G. H. W. Bush at 1,336).

Check the graph out. Trump set a record that will probably never be equaled!
Twitter is pouring out Trump voter remorse, Congress is reporting massive crowds protesting, the switchboards in Congress are swamped with calls, the people are pissed.

Surprisingly Congress has improved their disapproval ratings, they are down to ~69.4% disapproval. With about 19.1% of people who Approve of their job performance up from 13% on Jan 1. Way to go Congress.

‘The days of pretending that this isn’t serious are over’

A GOP consultant who was once asked to head up communications for now-President Donald Trump tweeted out a laundry list of suggestions to the media Saturday morning on how to best push back at a White House administration that continues to threaten them.

According to writer and media consultant Cheri Jacobus, “The days of pretending” what is happening under Trump isn’t “serious” is over and it is time for a concerted push-back.

As Jacobus’ tweets reveal, she not only is not a part of the Trump team but that she is appalled at what has transpired during the presidential campaign and how the Trump White House has conducted itself.

Can Trump tell the difference between truth and lies?

When a President loses Newsweek the bullshit is really deep!

This is more important than a few executive orders signed by President Donald Trump. It’s more important than his nominations for positions in his administration. It’s even more important than who gets appointed to the Supreme Court, or whether Obamacare gets repealed.

Nothing in the headlines these days is more important than this: The President of the United States is divorced from reality, unable to tell the difference between the truth and what he wants to be true. In August, much of the American press finally broke out the word “lie” to describe many of Trump’s statements, but that’s not enough. Reporters must now press the president to explain if he believes these statements to be true and why. Plenty of politicians deceive, but one who cannot discern reality from fiction is dangerous.

He may not be crazy but that fucker's Nutz!

Oppose, Resist, Impeach, and a straight jacket might help!
