After repeating a fake story from the white supremacist web site Breibart, Republican Senator Susan Collins of Maine has told Trump to turn over any evidence for the false claim the Obama administration wiretapped his phones.

“What we need to deal with is evidence, not just statements,“ Collins told CBS’s “Face the Nation.”

Even worse, FBI director James Comey has asked the Justice Department for a flat out public denial of the false claims. If this happens, this would put the con artist in the uncomfortable position of being rebuked by the nation's highest law enforcement agency and add more fuel to growing evidence he is unable, or unwilling, to be truthful.

Why do you refer to Breitbart as a white supremacist web site. I'm not defending them; I'm just curious.

Why do you refer to Breitbart as a white supremacist web site. I'm not defending them; I'm just curious.

Because their content bears that out. Was this a trick question?

Go sample it for yourself for a while before arguing that it isn't.

So, quote some of this content. http://www.breitbart.com/

You're the one who doubts. You do your own homework. The only problem there is that you don't have the brains to understand what you see in front of your face. (And you are a total loss to talk to). I've told you before that I'm not going down one of your ratholes with you. This is one of those times.

The hard of the National Intelligence categorically denied Trump's claim about the wiretapping. It's just further proof that Trump is mentally instable.

I was pretty sure you couldn't find anything, but thanks for proving it. :D

Dutifully keeping the lie alive, Sean Spicer said, "There's no question that something happened. The question is it, is it surveillance, is it a wiretap or whatever?" Spicer said during an off-camera briefing at the White House. "There has been enough reporting that strongly suggesting something occurred."

Note how a single, solitary conspiracy comment has turned into "enough reporting". No evidence to back up this lie and repeated denials by everyone in the intelligence community but yep, something happened.

It's amusing the con artist believes there's "enough reporting" on his lie to warrant an investigation, but when it comes to the mountains of evidence of colluding with Russia, it's all fake.

One reason they probably want to keep this lie going as long as they can is to tie up Congress so it can't investigate his ties with Russia.

Snopes mapped out the snarled mess, and has tracked down the sources

June, when the first FISA warrant was denied, the FBI was reportedly alarmed at Carter Page’s trip to Moscow and meetings with Russian officials, one week before the DNC was hacked. Counter intelligence agencies later reported to both Presidential candidates that Russia had carried out this hack; Donald Trump said publicly in the third debate that ‘our country has no idea’ if Russia did the hacking. The discovery of the Trump Tower private Russian server, however, communicating with Alfa Bank, changed matters, sources report.

To further complicate the story, the FISA warrant was allegedly granted in part because of the involvement of Vladimir Putin’s own daughters. One is married to a senior official at Gazprom, where Carter Page and Paul Manafort reportedly have holdings; another to Kirill Shamalov, a banking official.

The fact that the alleged warrant was a FISA warrant is itself significant. The court exists to grant warrants to examine cases concerned with Foreign Intelligence.

November 7, 2016

The FISA warrant was granted in connection with the investigation of suspected activity between the server and two banks, SVB Bank and Alfa Bank. However, it is thought in the intelligence community that the warrant covers any ‘US person’ connected to this investigation, and thus covers Donald Trump and at least three further men who have either formed part of his campaign or acted as his media surrogates. The warrant was sought, they say, because actionable intelligence on the matter provided by friendly foreign agencies could not properly be examined without a warrant by US intelligence as it involves ‘US Persons’ who come under the remit of the FBI and not the CIA. Should a counter-intelligence investigation lead to criminal prosecutions, sources say, the Justice Department is concerned that the chain of evidence have a basis in a clear warrant.

. “I have an outlier here that connects to Russia in a strange way,” he wrote in his notes. He couldn’t quite figure it out at first. But what he saw was a bank in Moscow that kept irregularly pinging a server registered to the Trump Organization on Fifth Avenue.

Money laundering, concerning Russia and Trump?
Everything connected with Trump's name is a money laundering operation.

I remember reading about the Trump server. I didn't read your links but I seem to remember that server was connecting to Alfa Bank and only Alfa Bank. I think it was even hardcoded to that address.

So in a round about way, Trump may be right but not in the way he wants people to think. He wants people to believe he was wiretapped because Obama was trying to find dirt on him to help Hillary when in reality it was the U.S. government inadvertently wiretapping him because of his server which was configured like no other normal server would be.

"Couldn't" is not the same as "wouldn't" but I understand that such nuances of English usage may be difficult for you to comprehend.

The charade continues. Despite having the power to declassify a FISA court request, Trump refuses to do so, thus keeping alive his lie a bit longer. In one fell swoop this matter could be cleared up but in what will eventually turn out to be a vain and counter-productive gamble, the administration is desperately clinging to its "alternative facts".

Sean 'Goebbels' Spicer declined on Monday to provide a source for President Donald Trump’s incendiary claim that his predecessor wiretapped his campaign headquarters, marking the third day that the administration hasn’t offered any evidence to support the allegation.

As reported earlier, Spicer said there were several reports, including from the lamestream media, that the wiretaps had taken place. Apparently when it suits them the lamestream media is a source of "facts" to the Trump administration despite no such reports, or evidence of such reports, having been made.

Ladbrokes of London now giving 4/5 on odds on Trumps impeachment/resignation in first term .

Of course the TV news jumped on the wire-tapping story.

Trump made the Sessions and Russian mess disappear. What suckers! Pathetic! He outsmarted them again.

MSNBC reporter torches Sean Spicer: Why did Trump ask Congress to uncover wiretap info he already has?

MSNBC White House correspondent Hallie Jackson backed White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer into a corner by asking him why President Donald Trump would call on Congress to investigate wiretapping information he already claims to have.

During Tuesday’s White House briefing, Jackson asked Spicer, if Trump already has proof that President Barack Obama illegally wiretapped him then why would he call for a congressional investigation instead of simply presenting his evidence?

“You said the president stands by his tweets Saturday morning that President Obama ordered this wiretap,” she noted. “You’ve also said that the president wants Congress to investigate. Some members of Congress, by the way, have asked the White House and asked the president to come forward with the information.”

“So bottom line, why would the president want Congress to investigate for information he already has?” Jackson wondered.
:eek::confused: :rolleyes:

In the press conference Spicer also framed the wire tapping as a case of leaking classified information. There's nothing Trump could have said before he was elected president that would be classified. He was a private citizen. They don't get to officially classify what they say/write.
