In 2017, Trump signed a new GI Bill that permitted National Guard members to qualify for education benefits if they serve on active duty for 90 days or more. There was a lavish signing ceremony, rare praise for Trump, and good optics all around.

In 2020, the world is a different place. Trump calls up the National Guard to assist in cleaning up his Covid crisis. The National Guard gets arguably the dirtiest work possible: cleaning and disinfecting nursing home rooms where Covid positive patients have died.

Yesterday, a Trump official announced that all National Guard involvement WILL be wrapped up WITHOUT EXCEPTION by June 24th.

What is the significance of June 24th?

It is the 89th day of deployment for National Guard troops.

I can only imagine how long the list would be if an independent DOJ and a nonpartisan Supreme Court had been overseeing things. The complicity of congressional republicans also limited the publics access to the truth. The true scope of this administrations corruption will only be known years after they're out of office. This investigation about whether an investigation was justified is as stupid as it sounds. Especially considering the criminal prosecutions resulting from the original investigation. This includes Trumps non exoneration by Mueller, as well as the rightful conviction of Turkish secret agent and Russian facilitator Michael Flynn.

This is coming from someone who is 2nd amendment friendly, FOR addressing illegal immigration at both ends of the problem, and understands the importance of fossil fuels as a bridge to a renewable energy future.

I also believe that the health care industry should have been prepared for a pandemic that has been predicted for years, and should have been stockpiling PPE, ventilators, testing supplies, etc. The Federal and State governments shouldn't have been required to bail them out. I hate to admit it but there just might be something to be said for overhauling the for- profit healthcare system in the US.
What's really frustrating is the fact that the Obama administration anticipated a pandemic during Trumps first( and hopefully only ) term and left a plan for the steps needed to prepare for it. Programs like Fast and Furious were started in 2006. Eric Holder didn't even know about the operation until 2011. It was a southern border operation targeting Mexican cartels. The intention was good but humans fucked up. And again, these operations started in 2006.

As far as the Steele dossier and Obamagate, how's that going so far. No charges, Barr just cleared Obama and Biden, and Brennan just volunteered to sit down with Barrs investigators because there's nothing to hide. Specifically over the FISA warrant.
