Trump is really a Democrat set out to destroy whats left of the GOP.

Entirely possible. He has donated to the Democrats and attended Chelsea's wedding. Certainly doing his damnest to ruin the rep of the Reps. Do a smash job on the GoP in time for the mid-terms. Then set things up for another 8 years of Democrat rule. Good plan!

Yeah, it's hard to believe Trump got elected given the Democrats' huge majorities in the House and Senate, plus their dominance in state and local politics.

That theory went down hill with the defunding of PP and his repealing of the law Obama put in place stating corporations taking fed money had to pay women equally and have sexual harassment policies.

His giving church a say in politics is as repuglican thing as you can find.

He's a repug through and through and represents those hatemongering d-bags to a T.

Well, it looked like the GOP was dying in 2008, and now it's still here and running the show, yet. Trump is doing it a great deal of damage, but the GOP will still be here after he's gone. The party's real problem is long-term decline in demographic support (and I'm speaking of generational demographics, not ethnic -- Millennials are more liberal than all elder generations were at their age, with far more atheists and agnostics and seculars, and fewer racists, sexists and homophobes), but I expect it will survive that too, in some form; any condition that takes a very long time to take effect also allows a very long time to adapt. Major political parties are resilient; there's a reason our present lineup has continued, at least in the sense of using the same party names, since 1854. And major political parties are adaptable; a party can change beyond recognition over time without once breaking institutional continuity -- compare Lincoln's GOP to today's Party of Jefferson Davis.

Well, it's pretty clear he hasn't been accepted by the Republicans who have been in Washington for years. I'm pretty sure that's a good thing.
I supposed after eight years of Obama it's natural to be desensitized to what amounts to acceptable behavior, but like Obama and Bill Clinton, Trump has a way of making me uneasy.

I supposed after eight years of Obama it's natural to be desensitized to what amounts to acceptable behavior . . .

 No, it isn't, and you know it very well, you worthless animal; but it is natural to be so desensitized after a mere four months of Trump.

The GOP is doing a fine job destroying itself on it's own. DC was fucked up long before Trump got there.
