Genuine concern

I believe Pelosi is genuinely concerned that Trump will croak before November, and that some moderate republicans will abandon Biden and vote for Pence or some other proxy. It would also probably hurt democrats in some hotly contested Senatorial races. With Trump gone the coalition against Trump might fall apart. Right wing republican voters are obviously cult like fanatics and will vote for whoever their cult leaders put forward. I'm not so sure Left wing and moderate democrats will be as fervent if Trump is out of the picture.

Please Mr. President, don't drink the Clorox!!
