Brian Butler has stepped out of the shadows and is publicly revealing the Mar-a-Lago document information he provided Jack Smith. In an evening interview on CNN, Butler explains how he and Walt Nado moved boxes from Trump's estate to his jet while Trump's lawyers were handing over some documents to the FBI. Butler described the hush-hush situation as they moved a large number of cardboard file boxes to Trump's plane and handed them up to the pilots before Trump flew to Bedminster.

The location of those boxes now remains a mystery.

Also discussed were the issues around the video tapes and what Butler knows about them.

Butler is going public, feeling that the public deserves the right to know about what went on at Mar-a-Lago expecting the trial may not take place until after the election.

Walt Nauta, not Nado.

But otherwise, đź‘Ť

Caught a clip of the interview this morning. The guy says Trump straight up talked about American and Russian nuclear submarine capability to Anthony Pratt, the Australian billionaire. Bought access through massively overpaying MAL party fees.

So?? Why was Trump not roasted over moving documents to Bedminster? The news showed him loading up boxes on his plane. We saw it that day

Now #5 speaks out??
Were the GEMS of his stash ever recovered??
Has policy been changed so this shit can never happen again ?
Granted the law says the National Archives take over, but something is wrong if it’s this easy to leave the White House with anything secret. Are other departments and branches of government as porous?

Did they search Bedminster?

an unnamed employee testified to the FBI that the 'secure' locks protecting the documents could easily be 'popped open' with a coat hanger or tiny screwdriver.

this information came to light after trump pushed for further details of S.C Jack Smith's investigations to be released... not sure this little gem will help his case, tho...

The account was relayed to FBI agents by an unidentified aide to Trump in January 2023, according to newly released exhibits, and further undercuts claims by Trump that the highly-classified materials he's accused of taking with him after leaving office were secured at all times.
Investigators were told by the witness that in summer of 2021 the storage room door had a knob "with a pinhole" that visitors could lock from the inside via a push button.

"Kind of like what you would find on a residential door inside of a home?" an FBI agent asked.

"So it might have a lock like that on one side of it then other side, rather than an actual place for a key," an agent added.
"Yeah," the witness said.

"--very tiny screwdriver?"

"Um-hmm," the witness said.
The witness' lawyer, John Irving, soon added, "Like when my kids lock themselves in the bathroom."

"Yeah," the witness said. "And then they'd pop it open."

Poor, dumb dumb

Rich's family denounced the conspiracy theorists and said that those individuals were exploiting their son's death for political gain, and their spokesperson called the conspiracy theorists "disgusting sociopaths".[14][15][16] They requested a retraction and apology from Fox News after the network promoted the conspiracy theory,[17] and sent a cease and desist letter to the investigator Fox News used.[6][16][17] The investigator stated that he had no evidence to back up the claims which Fox News attributed to him.[5][6][18] Fox News issued a retraction, but did not apologize or publicly explain what went wrong.[19] In response, the Rich family sued Fox News in March 2018 for having engaged in "extreme and outrageous conduct" by fabricating the story defaming their son and thereby intentionally inflicting emotional distress on them.[20][21] Fox News reached a seven-figure settlement with the Rich family in October 2020

trump demands Jack Smith be arrested over documents not being in the order they were found in the boxes they took from m-a-l had; these are the same boxes which he had illegally, that were rummaged through and messed up to begin with, some containing all manner of odds and sods:

Donald Trump has called for Special Counsel Jack Smith to be arrested after the prosecutor's team said some evidence in the Mar-a-Lago classified documents case are no longer in their "original, intact" form.

In a post on Truth Social, the former president demanded "ARREST DERANGED JACK SMITH. HE IS A CRIMINAL!" after federal prosecutors wrote in court filings that there are some boxes where the "order of items within that box is not the same" as they appear in digital scans of materials in the wake of the FBI retrieving them from Trump's Florida resort in August 2022.

what does Lee Yick—a Chinese immigrant who got his conviction for operating an unlicensed laundry overturned on the grounds that licenses were granted to white applicants but not Chinese (ergo a racial discrimination)—and trump have in common? not a lot, really, and yet his lawyers are citing Yick in their claims for 'selective prosecution' of trump.

somehow i don't see this getting traction
Donald Trump is no Lee Yick. And yet, in a motion filed Thursday in Florida, his lawyers argue that Yick’s case provides a precedent for throwing out the charges in the Mar-a-Lago classified documents prosecution. They say federal prosecutors are engaged in unconstitutional “selective prosecution” of Trump. There are two different, but equally fatal, problems with Trump’s argument. First, for better or worse, the Supreme Court has made selective prosecution claims notoriously difficult to prove. Second, Trump is just about the worst possible person to bring a selective prosecution claim — since so much of his allegedly unlawful conduct in the Mar-a-Lago case is unprecedented.

A claim for selective prosecution is, in essence, a claim that the government chose to prosecute a defendant for the exact same conduct for which it chose not to prosecute a different individual. The claim includes the argument that there was no good reason (and, indeed, a nefarious one, like race or political views) for treating the two cases differently. The argument is not that the defendant is innocent; it’s that the government’s misconduct in singling out the defendant ought to be punished — by barring the prosecution of even a guilty defendant.

(Reuters) - Lawyers for Donald Trump on Monday asked a federal judge to reject prosecutors' request for a gag order limiting what the former U.S. president can say about law enforcement officers involved in the case accusing him of mishandling sensitive documents.

Trump's team also asked U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon in Fort Pierce, Florida, to impose sanctions and pursue civil contempt findings against "all government attorneys who participated in the decision to file the motion."
this comes after prosecutors put in their own request to shut him the fuck up with his dangerous speech:
On Friday, prosecutors asked Cannon to review Trump's bail conditions and issue an order to prevent him from making statements that pose a danger to law enforcement.

Special Counsel Jack Smith said the request was necessary because of several "intentionally false and inflammatory statements" that Trump made recently about the FBI search of his Mar-a-Lago golf resort in Florida in August 2022.
