For the first time since losing the election to President-elect Joe Biden, President Donald Trump acknowledged he lost.

A new administration will be inaugurated on Jan. 20, he said.

“My focus now turns to ensuring a smooth, orderly and seamless transition of power,” Trump said in a video Thursday night.

Yesterday was a charade... a piece of theater...

think about it... trump already knew there was no way the congress was not going to confirm Biden... even with a protest or riot...

So he got all his supporters together... riled them up and sent them to the capital... and he didn't care what the outcome would be... so long as they at least protested so he get on tv and make his claims...

The real goal was to disrupt the proceedings so he could show he could AND, most importantly, his congressional and staff supporters over the last 4 years could break from him and forever claim they didn't always support him. Ass wipes like McConnell and Graham and Loeffler and others will do just that as they try to push forward their agenda.

Immediately after the riot and before they remove him from office, he concedes.

Now... before he leaves office, I suspect he's going to try to pardon himself and all his family members from prosecution of any crime... and we'll have another Constitutional issue.

I doubt it. Trump hasn’t displayed the kind of planning or subtlety for things that don’t directly benefit him. He’s mostly impulsive and acts on the fly. That they are able to distance themselves is simply a consequence of his power grab, not a pre-planned move.

I think they are reading the subtext that goes with it and see it as a "I have to do some lip service work to stay in position but I'm still your guy" maneuver and thus are good with it. And I think they are perceiving him as he wants them to.
