SLATE magazine sez Trump is at the mercy of liberal judges but that's silly.

Its silly because Trump nominates all the judges, and its not likely he'll nominate any liberal judges in the next 8 years.

He's only temporarily at their mercy politically. As soon as the travel ban and sanctuary city decisions arrive at the SCOTUS they will be reversed. In my opinion, no court can restrain the President from enforcing well established existing law on political grounds. Another thing, I don't believe the President is subordinate to a federal district judge. If the SCOTUS is not subordinate to a federal court, then the co-equal political branches aren't either, the President being not a man but an institution of government.
