Trouble with Pics

I am having some trouble here. I cannot seem to figure out how to reduc the size of my pics, in order to post them. Any ideas?

What program are you susing to resize them?

What file format are you using? (JPG and GIF are the best format for attaching pics to a post.

Are you having problems meeting the limits on dimension (800x600 pixels for attachments or 150x150 pixels for avatars.)

Is the problem the file size? (100K for attachments or 20K for avatars.)

Paintshop Pro from ( www.jasc.com ) or irFanview (from various download sites on the web) are both very good at resizing pics and saving them in JPG format within the file size limits.

No.

At least not as separate files. You can combine several pictures into a collage and post them as a single file as long as they pixel and filesize limits are met.

As i have said in another post to Swedish Chef (?) this avatar is done by a friend, he says it is me but I don't see the likeness. I'm looking for another but they aren't that important r they??

A good avatar can get you noticed favorably, a bad avatar choice can hurt the impression you make on others. (this one is very good, BTW.)

Don't limit your search to avatar sized pictures. Any picture you find that you like can be resized down to the 150x150 pixels and 20Kb size limits. You just need to worry about how well the details will reduce. There are numerous threads in this conference on avatars and where to find them.
