"Trouble is her Middle Name"

Vicki Langdon
22 years old
5'8", 115#, 34B-25-35
Vicki walked casually along the waterfront, looking over her shoulder toward the benches near the basketball court. Her 14 year older brother, Peter, often came here for pick up games. She thought he was silly playing with those young bucks. Most of them could run circles around him. But Peter had always been a wily one on the court. He had a wide variety of fake movements that shed his defender, opening him up for a long and almost always successful jump shot.
Today, though, Peter had something more important going on that just a 3 on 3 basketball game. He was meeting an old high school friend he hadn't seen in over a decade. Vicki watched them from a distance, giving them their space. Jon without an "h", she remembered her brother telling her.
The two of them looked Vicki's direction together. She smiled just a bit but otherwise didn't show a reaction. A moment later, Peter turned his friend toward the waterfront. Vicki ceased her slow walk to await them. As they approached, she couldn't help but give the man an appreciative up and down once over. He was attractive, and Vicki had a good feeling that under his sports jacket and slacks was a fit body she'd enjoy getting to know very well.
"Victoria, this is my friend Jon that I told you I was meeting today," Peter said as they arrived. "Jon, my baby sister, Victoria, a-k-a Vicki."
She smiled broader to the man as she offered out her hand. "Nice to meet you, Jon."
"Jon was telling me that he's been looking for work and not having much success at it," Peter went on as Vicki took and held the other man's hand for a bit longer than was typical. Vicki was known to be a bit of a flirt. She was also known to enjoy embarrassing her brother. Continuing to hold his old friend's hand in a somewhat flirtatious way could be worth a few laughs later. Looking between his friend and his sister, Peter went on, "And Vicki here has been looking for a driver--"
"No! I haven't!" she cut in quickly, back slapping her brother in the chest. She explained, "My father has been looking for a driver for me, not me myself."
She looked Jon up and down again, this time very conspicuously. She donned that devilish smile of hers as she said, "But if I were looking..."
She let the suggestive response fade away as she smiled even wider to the stranger. Without taking her eyes off Jon, Vicki asked her brother, "Does your friend know what our father does for a living?"
"He knows," Peter responded. "We've known each other since we were 13, Victoria."
"Oh, you mean before the hair began growing down--"
This time it was Peter who backhanded Vicki, though, it was without hardly any impact at all. She laughed, then asked, "You sure you want to get mixed up with the shit our old man is into?"
Peter and Vicki's father, Carlton Langdon, was a quiet, reserved man of nearly 60 who lived a simple life behind the stone and wrought iron wall of the family's mansion in the city's exclusive West Hills neighborhood. He was also a member of the Magaddino Crime Family, which controlled many of the city's illegal rackets: gambling, prostitution, high end burglary, extortion, and other felonies had been the mainstay of the family since the early 1930s.
Vicki made it sound as if she disapproved of the family business. In truth, she had had her hands in some of the activities, with her father's reluctant approval. In fact, Vicki was the bad girl in the family while Peter, an international business lawyer, kept his distance from the day to day operations. He helped the family in other ways, from defending their goons when they were brought up on charges or finding ways for the Family to spend (aka launder) their ill-gotten gains through domestic and international business dealings.
"I'm going to a party tonight," Vicki told Jon after he'd said what he wanted to say regarding working as her driver. "Why don't you take me. Call it a job interview."
