So, I started a couple threads way back when about hings I really enjoyed. However, as is the case with most things that I do, I quickly lost interest in them. I was thinking about this and realized the reason these things got old for me was because I was too rigid and too focused on one thing. That's why this time instead of making one thread for a specific thing, I'm making a thread for anything and everything I feel like sharing. :D I'm going to provide links to my old reviews and such, but anything new will be added here. I plan to do some youtube videos as well, so I'll post those here as well.

Things you can expect:
~ Transformer reviews and biographies
~ Video Game reviews
~ Anime reviews
~ TV and movie reviews
~ Random Youtube videos I like
~ Gameplay footage
~ Video game walkthroughs
~ Whatever else I feel like putting up. :D

If you want to watch a really good, really scary anime, try this one.

Hellsing.

Warning! It's not for those with weak stomaches.

Well, I've been working on getting M.U.G.E.N. set up so I can record some videos of that to start up with, but it's been a pain in my ass all evening. I haven't even fiddled with the recording software yet.

Hopefully I'll have a video up tonight.

ETA: Ok, so M.U.G.E.N. is up and running, but I'm having a real hard time with the recording software. Sound is absolutely terrible! No idea how to fix it either.

I have the original Hellsing on DVD, and am wondering if I should be getting the Ultimate series DVDs as well. I have been hearing good things about them. I am considering waiting until they are all out so that I don't have to wait for any of them to be released :D

How about some tentacle sex, instead?

Mmm... tentacle sex... :D

I turned my TV on an hour ago and still no picture. -_- I am not amused.

The Ultimate series is much better than the original. Better animation, a darker plotline, much more exciting action. Alucard in this one is really fucking scary. Even the good guys are scary.

I think I'll go watch it again.

I don't do scarey. I shoot back when frightened and that is not only unpopular but hard on the equipment, as well.

First Review of the Year!

And my first review of the new year will be of the Anime...

Night Wizard
http://static.animekiwi.com/images/upload/1193531445.jpg

Episodes: 13
Genre: Fantasy, Adventure
Opening
Ending

The story in this Anime revolves around a small group of heroes that work for a larger group designed to protect the world. These group members are known as "wizards." It is their job to protect the world from evil creatures known as "emulators" that come from another dimension known as the Internal World. When the red moon appears, and emulator can't be far behind. Most mythical beasts of lore are in fact emulators, and in recent years emulator activities have risen. And so Anzelotte, the leader of the wizards devises a plan to gather the Seven Jewels of Virtue in order to open a gate into the Internal world so that the wizards can attack the emulator force and the demon lords who control them at the source.

At the beginning of the series we meet Elis Shiho, a cheerful and polite young girl who is more than what she seems. We soon learn that she is in fact able to sense and collect the Seven Jewels thanks to her special bracelet, and she is suddenly thrust into the conflict between the wizards and emulators. But just who is she?

Joining her are Renji Hiiragi, a reckless demon sword wielder; Kureha Akabane, a local shrine girl and Renji's childhood friend; and Akari Himuro, who shows little to no emotion but is a devoted companion. Together they collect the Seven Jewels of Virtue and confront any opponent who stands in their way. During their journey they also meet a mysterious young man known only a Kirihito. But who is he, and what is his true purpose? All is revealed as Night Wizard plays out.

Ok, so it's not the most original premise out there. An innocent young girl suddenly finds out that she is the key to the fate of the world and her new friends must now protect her. It's a tried and true formula for a lot of anime series. However, that alone does not make a good series. In fact many series that follow this promise fall flat. Night Wizard is not one of those series. I loved it from beginning to end! There's a great balance of action and plot development throughtout the series. There's one or two episodes where they focus on plot development, but every anime series has those types of episodes and fortunately the ones in this series are not boring as some of them tend to be.

It's only 13 episodes, but to be honest I thought that was perfect for this series. It cuts back on a lot of the filler content that plague a lot of anime series and presents a solid story arc from beginning to end. There was never a moment where I wished an episode would hurry up and end so I could get to the next in the hopes that there would be more action and less blah.

Definitely recommended!

Ok, I thought I'd follow up my review of Night Wizard with an anime that has a somewhat similar concept, but is drastically different. So, here's my review for...

This Ugly Yet Beautiful World

Episodes: 12
Genre: Fantasy, Sci-fi
Opening
Ending

So, the story revolves around four main characters (I'm going to stick with the Japanese names because frankly the English ones are awful). Takeru Mizushima is a high school student working part time as a motorcycle courier. His closest friend is Ryo Ninomiya, their bond strengthened by the fact that they were both abandoned by their parents. This tragic event that they both share actually manifest itself in their psyche's in remarkably different ways. Takeru has a hard time trusting people, and is often distant and aloof. Ryo on the other hand a is a gentle and kind person, who takes care of his little sister, who believes their parents died in an accident. Both of their lives will take a drastic turn in this series.

Takeru is making a late delivery one day alongside Ryo when a light fills the sky and enters a nearby forest. Takeru and Ryo go to investigate, and are surprised to find a beautiful young girl floating by a tree. Takeru names her Hikari and they connect immediately. Just a few moments later, a hideous monster attacks them, seemingly after Hikari. Takeru vows to protect her at all costs, and at some point in the confrontation a hidden power awakens in him, transforming him into a demon and sending him into a rage that allows him to slaughter the powerful monster attacking them.

A short time later, Ryo encounters a mysterious girl himself in the form of Akari. Like the previous two, Ryo and Akari are quick to connect with each other, and Ryo even brings her home, accepting Akari into his family. With both girls seemingly unaware of life in the world, the boys and their circle of friends set out to teach the girls about life and the world around them. Hikari and Akari soon meet, and it is quite apparent that there is a connection between the two. They consider themselves to be sisters, and their bond grows over time. But just what is the connection between the two?

As the girls learn about their life, Takeru also learns how to deal with the changes in him. Monsters continue to attack Hikari, and Takeru's demonic power continues to manifest itself. But why is all this happening, and why are these monsters targeting Hikari specifically? What secret do Hikari and Akari hold, and what will it mean for the sake of the Earth? Find out in This Ugly Yet Beautiful World.

Ok...where do I begin. First of all, this Anime is bizarre. It's one of those series that is very confusing, but brings it all together at the end and then you're like, oh so that's why that happened. There's also a lot of nudity. I don't necessarily have a problem with that, except that there were instances where it felt unnecessary. Speaking of unnecessary, a lot of the episodes felt very out of place and unneeded. Like they could have told the story in half the time that they did. It made many of the episodes feel much longer than they actually were. In a series with only 12 episodes, this was a terrible blow. A lot of the plot exposition was very repetitive as well. There were some great episodes with a lot of action, but the filler material kinda negated that. I will say though that the finale was well worth the wait.

All in all this series was okay, but there's much better out there.

So I just learned how to connect my video game systems up to my computer directly. What does that mean? Well, now I can record videos of me playing games on my systems instead of only through emulators on my PC. I can also now do live streaming web shows as well.

Here's the link to my Live channel:

Tromby's Streaming Madness

I'll post a link for the YouTube channel once I have some recordings done.

I'm excited. :D

Allison and Lillia ~ Anime Review

Allison and Lillia
http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o138/trombonus/AllisonandLillia.png

Episodes: 26
Genre: Historical fiction
Opening

You know, sometimes the greatest discoveries come from random choices. I had just finished watching the OVA of Kimi ga Nozomu Eien, along with it's spinoff Akane Maniax and was wondering what to watch next. I was looking through the list of Anime titles on the site I've been visiting for Anime when the title "Allison and Lillia" jumped out at me. I thought, 'what an unusual title for an Anime,' and decided to check it out. I mean, why not? I wasn't looking to watch anything at the time, and if it sucked I could always move on to something else. So I read the description, and it didn't seem like something I'd want to watch, but I made the decision to try it out anyway. Boy am I glad I did.

The story is split into two parts, the first following the path of Allison and her childhood friend Wil. In the beginning, they live in a country known as Roxche, which has been at war with its' neighbor Sous Beil for hundreds of years. They learn of a secret "treasure" that could end the war forever, and soon after they set out to find it.

The second half of the series is set about 18 years after the events in the first half, and now focuses on Allison's daughter, Lillia. While her mother would actively seek out adventure, adventure seems to seek out Lillia, along with her childhood friend Treize, who is hiding a rather significant secret...

This is one of those Animes that you could very easily miss out on, and it would be a very sad thing indeed. I've watched a lot of Anime in the last few months, and nothing has impressed me quite as much as this series did. It's extremely well written, engaging, and well animated. A lot of times I tend to think Animes are too long, or have episodes that seem completely unnecessary. The opposite is true of this Anime, and I was sad to see it end. I truly wish there had been more episodes. You should definitely check this out.

If you want, you can steal my reviews from the directory if you want. I might not update anymore there. It's hard to say if I'll have any more time :/

Man, I totally forgot about this. Brings back some good memories. I'll definitely have to bring this back. :D

It's cold in here, my arms are covered.

Tromby, I bought a 2010 Camaro. It's a sweet ride :D

I honestly like it cold, which is why I always have the AC cranked as high as it'll go. ^_^ That's actually true in real life though.

Also, I approve of this purchase. :D
