Why shouldn't aspects of gender identity be studied in biology or hard science? Are you denying there is or may be a physical component possibly at play? Whether hormonal or in the brain. Your automatic rejection is what led to my statement about it being a threat to straightness. Why preclude the possibility of something without even giving it the opportunity to be studied? What do you gain from that? Why do you have a problem with that?

The reality is that gender identity could be studied under several categories. That you don't understand this isn't really logical.

There are plenty of opportunities for it to be studied under the umbrella of the soft sciences.

But if some people here hear stuff about me that may or not true it either is or isn't. Shrug. The same happens via pm. I think you're being naive. While two wrongs don't make a right, in the case of Aphro or any other person who is being coerced with personal information, if someone chooses to out that person that doesn't make them a bad person - it takes the blackmailer's or harasser's power away and allows others to know what type of person they are dealing with.

The rules are vague here and easy to work around; and criminally (or civilly) prosecuting someone for an online crime is near impossible. Laurel can ban a person for harassing someone, but we see how they just come back under a different alt. The only remedy then, in your no outing theory, is for the victim to basically endure the harassment or to go away. If the person is outed, however, the burden then shifts to them and people will be less likely to trust them with any sort of personal information.

I have been on a board where we faced similar problems but the board was not registered in us. It made a huge difference. Also I think people really sought free speech not a place to have tantrums louder than others

I wouldn't force the book I had to read regarding cyber crime on anyone - it was dry and made me want to rip my eyes out, but most law books are like that. It also focused on all types of cyber crime including hacking to revenge porn so would probably be a little broader than what you are looking for.

I think there is a difference between trolling and keyboard warriors and then those who show a malicious intent like in the case of Aphro or when someone threatens (even subtly) to expose information or photos. They require two different types of responses. With the GB being unmoderated, trolling and keyboard warrior(ing) runs rampant. The block/ignore function is usually the best and easiest way to go, but not always effective when you can see the quotes or a person gets banned and comes back as an alt again and again and again. Moving to another board is the best solution for those who don't like the atmosphere of the GB where there is more moderation.

With the second type of person, their behaviors aren't as open and it's not until it's too late you realize what kind of person they are. They may also not break any specific rules are may find the gray areas to work around. Those are the ones I think should be outed.
