The Fan’s Shan & RJ show posed the question to the former Chicago Bears coach of what he thought about Kaepernick and his choice to kneel during the playing of the National Anthem.
“I think it’s a problem…anybody who disrespects this country and the flag” said Ditka. “If they don’t like the country they don’t like our flag…get the hell out.”
“I have no respect for Colin Kaepernick – he probably has no respect for me, that’s his choice” said Ditka. “My choice is, I like this country, I respect our flag, and I don’t see all the atrocities going on in this country that people say are going on.”
A message to Trump Troll, Mike Ditka
"In the light of the ongoing trauma inflicted on black communities by the state, Ditka's comments ring as staggering in their insensitivity. To claim you don't "see" the atrocities is simply to confirm your inability to remain informed about highly publicized current events."

ESPN analyst Trent Dilfer said a backup quarterback should know his place and shut his mouth. On Friday, a Dallas radio station asked former NFL coach Mike Ditka about Kaepernick’s pioneering gesture, and his response sounded like what you might expect from someone who is old, wealthy and out of touch.

Colin Kaepernick joined a high school football team in its protest Friday night, kneeling while the players took it a step further by laying on their backs with their hands raised during the national anthem.
The players at Castlemont High School in Oakland had previously kneeled during the anthem with their fists raised, gaining the attention of Kaepernick -- who retweeted a photo of the protest.

Trump couldn't mask his racism while discussing the protests in Charlotte, North Carolina.
While discussing the civil unrest in Charlotte, Trump described African Americans protesting to a Pittsburgh audience this way, "If you're not aware, drugs are a very, very big factor in what you're watching on television."
