Troll attack

Well after writing in here since may and being able to somehow fly under the radar I had my first official troll attack tonight. Don;t get me wrong I do have a couple of personal ones. One to the point that I know that on a day one of my new stories is released they vote a 1 between 1-2pm. but tonight someone just went down all 36 of my stories and gave them one's. sucks because a few were in BDSM which only get like 40 votes a pop and are now under their 4.5. Now I know lit does "sweeps" once every so often do you think this is something they might catch and remove because its so obvious?
Well I guess maybe I should be flattered like its a rite of passage or something.

If someone did a straight bombing run of everything, odds are that the 1s ( or at least most of them ) will be gone by tomorrow. It happens fairly regularly, and votes from obvious patterns like that usually don't last long.

Have to say I am a pretty thick skinned person, but I'm definitely an unknown small potatoes kind of writer hear and I was thrilled my character got nominated for something and a few of my fans followed suit now I get a rabid fan of someone else doing this. I mean grow up. Sucks because I was gearing up to try my hand at entering the Valentines day contest and was just reading the horror stories on the support thread. maybe I'll pass a top prize I would never win certainly isn't worth going through this crap. I mean I'm not saying my stuff is great but I like every author work my ass off on them and if they were voted low legit I would say okay but for spite it pisses me off.

I think this is a key. When you start posting to the forum, you get some added attention on your stories. Not all of it is attention you'd like to be getting.

Not sure if you wanted a particular story so here is the page. Siblings with benefits is the main story and I have a couple of BDSM. My personal Favorites are Breaking of Allison which features the brother Mark from SWB. And Ch 4&5 of SWB where the sister seduces her brother.
I will beat you to your first remark: My grammar is weak, to the point I had a volunteer editor and didn't realize that I guess they were not a lot better than me because I still get shots sometimes. I have recently found a new one who is working through the series from the recent chapter backwards.

Be mean but at least be constructively mean.

I look forward to your opinion. And I am learning about the editor's. I'm on my 4th and this one really seems legit. He's the first one that's not just fixing commas, but also making wording changes and suggestions with the story in general. So hopefully my stories will start looking better.

Don't let the support thread discourage you too much. Most of the crap that happens there is coming from two people with a dozen screen names. They're determined to tear down the site for not recognizing them as the gods of literature that they are

Contests are a great way to attract new readers, and new readers hang around long after the trolls get bored with you if you keep producing stories that they want to read.

I think it balances against the lower scores brought about by the money incentive causing contestants and their fanbases to engage in shenanigans.

You know it's funny because I haven't been posting on the threads to long but I already know one of these schizo's with the ton of Alt's its that bostonfiction/superhero/ freddie person. Have to say I won;t read anything from them just for GP's at this point. I think in the support thread they mention they have 27 entries for Valentines day. I may still toss mine in. Its an incest story so should be good for some creative abuse from the others.
Speaking of creative abuse. read the thread anytime now Image is going to come back and let me know what she thinks of my stories. Should be fun.

There's usually not much individual story negativity on the thread unless it's coming from our two entrenched trolls. Naturally, there may be some ( often anonymous ) that ends up in your story comment board.

Incest doesn't really get any more of a bad vibe in contests than it does normally, and doesn't take as hard of a hit from contest trolling due to the higher than average vote totals and the everyday trolling that the category gets anyhow.

The odds of placing are slim, but if you're writing the story that you want to write, that's all that really matters.

Short version: Don't let the petty little creeps get your dander up. Have confidence in your abilities, take reasoned advice and strive to improve. Write often and hone your developing skills.

@ lovecraft: Don't sweat the trolls. They come after all of us. I'd say you're doing the right thing by trying to find an editor that fits with you. You also seem to be open to constructive feedback. Take the legitimate feedback and use it. The trolls will focus their spewing venom on someone else soon enough.

I don't write to win because I'm not given that opportunity. My scores are filled with 3 and 4 votes, even though many of my stories are worthy of 5 votes and good enough to win.

Now tell me this, for someone who writes so many stories, when the Hell do I have the time to do all that I'm accused of doing?

Alts? I dare say that most people here have more alts than I do but all my alts are attached to stories, Andtheend, BostonFictionWriter, CarBuffStuff, PositiveThinker, WmForrester, and now SuperHeroRalph.

Why all the alts? I was trying to get away from bashers that continually bash my stories and erase my red H's. I'm not given a fair chance here. I just write stories. Yet, it's the same people throwing their shit at me, blaming me for everything, lumping me in with Scouries.

I write so many stories that now, I prefer writing under a new name each year, instead of having to wade through a page, such as my BostonFictionWriter page. Is that a crime to have different alts that I write stories under? Am I breaking a rule?

I feel for you love, but i think you might have just painted a target on your back (I know from experience). The trolls round here are like sharks—they smell blood or weakness and they'll go you.

You must have checked the page fairly recently as of early this morning they wiped the 1 bombs. if you had looked lat night 6-7 of the stories had dropped to less that 4.5 (as a lot of them only have 40 or so votes which isn't a stat you can see from viewking my page) As far as bashing you. I was asking someone if you were who they were talking about. I also admittedly said that you are a bit annoying with all your alts (I'm sure you have reasons but they're beyond me and I don't have to understand them) and that you seem to do more than your share of bitching from all your ID's which in turn makes me uninterested in your work. However i ahve only recently really been following and contributing to threads and posts. If you lok basck to your "I'm a writer I write stories" I post and compliment you on one of your prior works done under Bostonfiction. And I'm sure your getting a lot of abuse but I think your egging it on and dare say you may like the attention. Trust me I would love to have 100's of votes even if it meant more trolling. My scores are high but based on 40-100 votes I'm hioping to get to a point where their theat high based on 200+ Anyway point is you saw after the fact.

P.S. just noticed this post. If your up for an honest straightforward opinion. This is what personally annoys me about you. (I only speak for me) any post I have see you manage to work in that you have 900+ stories. That is quite an achievement but when you are the one constantly brining it up it loses its luster. Let other say "wow this person is prolific" or "Damn that's some series work" greatness when self proclaimed loses its shine. Just my view I tend to have issues with arrogance. So your right let it go this is a free site that's supposed tie fun I have plenty of people I can argue with in person.

I'm accused of it all the time but have never scored any post less than 5. If your tale sux I move on as soon as i come to the sucky part.

I'm guessing that the Bradys know who the trolls are from their IP addresses. Do alts change the IP address? I imagine they dont.

Well then...

I chose Almost Perfect, Siblings @ Samhain, Lex Talionis 05, and Weekend with Laura. I found all of them to be fairly well written, stimulating (depending on one's fantasies), not overly wordy and a good combination of sex and story line. I rolled my eyes at the witch/satanist pairing however...

There were some grammatical problems but not enough to make them unreadable. I thought they were all pretty good, especially for Literotica...

So the question is, what did you do to piss someone off?
