mmmhmmm...I'm infected:eek:

With Trojan.ByteVerify 3 infected files....
I did a scan and was told the results and how to fix it.

The problem is i'm supposed to go in safe mode,do another scan and delete the infected files but when i go in safe mode my mouse doesn't work!

Help please!

p.s... I should also mention i have a limited comp geek vocabulary lol what i know about my computer is all self taught and i have a lot of learning still to do

Ok, I'm assumming you're using some version of windows.

To bring up the start menu just use the windows button on your keyboard (on the right bottonm betwen ctrl and alt).
Then use the arrow keys to move through it, and then hit enter to execute the command. To alternate between different windows you have open on your desktop use "alt + Tab" to move between them. To move between options and such on a window such as how to execute the scan on your antivirus use tab to move the Dashed-line-box around the window. Or hold down alt and use whatever letter is underlined at the top of the window to bring down those drag down options. An example, if you hold down alt and hit F it brings down the file menu which should have new, open, print etc in it. Once again manuever with arrows and such.

Other mouseless shortcuts
Alt + F4 is close
Alt + F4 on your empty desktop brings up the shutdown menu
Windows key then U also brings up the shutdown menu

If you bring up something or open a dragdown menu you don't want to, just hit escape to get out of it. If that doesn't work, try alt + f4.

I hope that helps, if not feel free to ask more detailed questions.

Thanks for the excellent rundown on how to survive without a mouse.

You're very welcome. At least we don't have to argue about everything :p

p.s. cute AV
Thank you ! and...thank you LOL Your instructions are great! Now if only I could get Norton to scan the damn comp i'll be all set!

nice advice however. . . working without the mouse is not the real problem. . .
this happened to me once and i was told most trojans if not all, will disable all your anti-virus and firewall software
if you can not run your norton anti virus that is probably the reason, i suggest getting professional help ( or ask a geeky friend lol )
