Been awhile since I started a thread. Since I am going to be in Boston from the 15th thought the 20th though maybe I could find someone to tell me what fun things I should do while there. Maybe find someone that would like to have a drink or dinner? I know chances are unlikely but even some good tips on things to do would be a step in the right direction, right? Never been there so any help I can get would be appreciated :)

If you like baseball go to Fenway: It’s special (Safeco is on my list). The obvious is the MFA museum of Fine Arts, huge and varied. Smaller and more intimate is the Gardner Museum. Once a residence it has a collection well worth seeing. Do you like history art or architecture or something else before I ramble too much.

I have not got around to looking to see if Boston is playing at home next week but plan on checking. So yes it is on my list. Not really into the arts and I am looking more for fun things to do at night. I have convention stuff most of the daytime. Thanks for responding :)

I live near you now but used to live on Cape Cod. Went to Boston a few times. Lots of things to do around the waterfront. Lots of good restaurants. Especially Italian. If you are driving, be warned. The streets are narrow.

Definitely on the 15th because I have tickets. Hopefully your in the Hynes. It’s in the middle of Backbay which is pretty happening at night. If nothing else the two legged scenery is quite nice. The public gardens are nearby as well and again lots of scenery. Boston is super walkable. Don’t rent a car, it’s a pain in the city and let’s say the natives consider driving a competitive sport The north end is scenic and the Italian food is killer. Do you know where you are?

Hey Jada thanks :)

I think they got me a hotel that is on the waterfront so that should work out. No driving for me so should be okay on that part.

Yes just checked email. Staying at the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel. Know where that is? Thanks for the information.

That's in the new Seaport district. That's an area I don't know, but the real estate there is pricey (commercial). It's not too far to the North End, and you can also get to the Theater district (it's small). Back Bay is on the far end of the Theater District, and Fenway is near Back Bay. All of that part of Boston is walk-able and not huge. Walking to Fenway from the hotel will be a hike, but not too bad if you plan.

Seaport is good to great for eating, drinking and people watching. J. Pace on Seaport Blvd/Northern Ave. makes a good sandwich, rest of the area is overpriced for what it is.
Sox are off for much of that time because of the all-star break (15th is a day game).

Thanks forgot about the all star game being that week, that sucks! Thanks for the other information. Sounds like I need to wander a bit out of the area I am staying for a better time.

The touristy stuff (Faneuil Hall, North End, State House) is a solid 30-minute walk from your hotel. The Harborwalk is great if it is nice out.

Still hoping to hear from some others about things to do in Boston. Thanks to all of you that have contributed so far.

Well I am off to Boston tomorrow evening and wanted to thank those of you that responded. Will check to see if any more do once I get there. Looking forward to the break from work and exploring a place I have never been to. Again thanks everyone :)
