many years back (1977) i was in a rock club in Manchester, England, it was a quiet (ish) night.. the chief bouncer announced, around about 1.30 A.M that "we have a guy here who is going to do a Ritchie Blackmore act, if you all stand back no one 'should' get hurt'.. which was intriguing .

this guy came into the middle of the floor and trashed a Fender Strat, no one got hurt, and was teh 'tribute' act born?

have a look at from 10.20 (ish) its not the same strat... but a tribute is born.
