I agree. Which makes it even more special imo. We are all very different - not just in the way we look, but in body shape and proportion. Finding the ultimate-fit partner is so much more significant!

Naturalism -- using that as term to describe the space between tacky amateur and too glossy professional -- it's very rare in erotic photography of any kind.

Re: naturalism - I don't understand why there isn't more of it. I actually do graphics for an FTM filmmaker friend who in his porn stars people of all shapes and sizes and will occasionally include scenes where a star might not even come. I find his films interesting and hot, much hotter than the norm. Am not sure why more people don't get tired of the plastic...

It's interesting - this same friend and I were reviewing films for the XXX show of a gender-queer/trans film fest a couple of years ago and had a filmmaker get upset when we wanted only one scene from a film she submitted (a series of loosely connected shorts with women who were "hot" in a standard way, but there was something cold about the sex).

She had once scene where the two stars - both very butch, one thin, one chubby, were fucking each other with strap-ons. In addition to them looking like real people (although both were very cute neither was "perfect"), the scene had an unscripted quality to it that was an utter turn-on - you could tell that they were truly enjoying each other - it made me want to just throw myself in the middle of it - my GF got the benefit of my excitement when I got home

So yes, if that's naturalism, I am sad, sad, sad that it went out/was only in vogue in the 70's - probably the reason that I so rarely get turned on by porn.
