Tanyruu

Name: Tanyruu Goh
Status Within the Team: Crewmember / Fire Magician
Age: 30
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Bisexual
Weapons:

Two red and black metal gauntlets that enhance fire magic, as well as offering limited resistance to fire.

A rather large, bulky, pistol that looks like a colt .45 which is inscribed with the words, "The Lawgiver" on the side.

A pair of plain short swords with several runes written on the sides, they're called Phobos and Deimos.

Appearence: A dark, but wise sort of appearance. Tanyruu generally dresses in black. Long, spikey, black hair, greyish-blue eyes, and pale skin make up the physical appearance. The articles of clothing Tanyruu usually wears are made up of her gauntlets along with brown leather boots, black and red skirts, and a sleeveless red shirt.

Bio: Tanyruu was a young child when her parents died in the Wizard's War. She was a magician with an affinity for fire magic and was quickly trained by her parent's, who were also magi, associates. When she was old enough she became a mercenary and treasure-hunter before joining the crew of the Jiyuu. Her heritage, though it has given her a bit more knowledge on the puzzles and beasts the crew faces, also makes her cocky. But even then she is the prevailing cooler head when tempers flare among the crew.

Name: Veldin
Status Within the Team: Engineer/Technomancer
Age: About 18 from his appearance
Gender: M
Sexuality: Bisexual
Weapons: Repeating pistol, shooting elementally enchanted bullets

Appearence: Elven appearance, i.e. slender and graceful to the point of being a little feminine, though not overly tall. Quite handsome, his ivory skin contrasting with his dark amber eyes and the raven black hair from which rise his delicate ears. (Picture )

Bio: Veldin comes from the Crimson Clan. This secretive tribe of Elves has long maintained a reclusive college of magic, in which only members of the Clan have ever been admitted and taught. It is rumored that besides the more common types of magic, the Crimson College puts a lot of emphasis on demonology and other summoning spells...and since it managed to stay relatively neutral during the Wizard War, it is one of the few places that still has a small armory of arcane artifacts.

Veldin's exact story is not something he ever talks about, but clearly at some point he left the College, though the exact circumstances remain a mystery. He is certainly not as traditionalist a most of the Crimson Clan or even other Elves. He has taken quite an interest in machines and engineering, trying ever new ways of combining sorcery and technology. In some circles, he even has a little fame for inventing some machines powered by imps and other summoned spirits.

The young Elf remains something of a mystery to those who know him. He is reclusive by nature, perhaps because he has something to hide, but he also seems naturally shy, often obsessing over his experiments rather than socializing. While he usually proves to be a good ally or even friend, there also remains something vaguely sinister about him, and he seems at times somewhat morbidly fascinated with the darker aspects of life and magic. All the time, there is also a faint hint of vulnerabilty there which prevents him from actually seeming dangerous.

God damn, Nightwish is an awesome band.

Anyway, this concept looks rather intriguing. I'll have a character profile up later this afternoon. Watch this post for the edit.

Appearence: Nicodemus is tall and slim, his skin pale from time spent either indoors or out at night. His grey eyes have a haunted look and his wavy brown hair has grown down to his waist. When he was little more than a boy, he first took up arms against an infestation of goblins in his home village. A scar over his left eye is a constant reminder of his foolish arrogance and zeal.

Frost Mountain. A place of peice, quiet, cold weather, and now, several profanities. "Fuck...Fuck...Fuck!" I, Damien Kainen, continuously swore as I was running down on of the many ice caverns within the mountain. I stopped for a second to catch my breath, and I stared at the mask. The mask which, moments ago, was withing a Dragon's mouth. The Crystal Mask.

"This better be worth it." Roar echoed through the caverns. I looked to see the same blue eyes that were hunting me. "SHIT!" I yelled, running once more. I took a few more steps, and the frozen ground crumbled beneath me. The large frost dragon came through the same hole I was falling, and followed me through the air. I took out my twin guns and fired as I spun through the air. "Mother...Fucking...Dragons!" I yelled feeling the cold chill on my skin. The pendant across my neck began to shine, and allowed me to land on my feet. I turned to see a passage way with a light at the end. I ran to it.

At the end of the passage way it was a dead end. I either commit suicide jumping...or let the dragon eat me. "I hate dragons." I stated quietly in my mind. I turned and drew my sword. At the moment it would have flown into me, I leaped atop the head of the enormous frost dragon. In the distance I saw the Jiyuu flying. No doubt with my comrades enjoying the show. I took out my communicator. "Guys! I'm in a little problem here!"

Rhannon heard Dameins call over the com and ran down the corador taking the ladder to the top of the Jiyuu. After closing the hatch she drew her winged sword and running to the edge opening her wings she took off into the air.

Flying in Dameins direction i could see him atop the Ice Dragons head. She had two choices she could grab Damein and fly him back to the Jiyuu or she could provide a distraction and help him fight.

Before grabbing her comunicator she used a simple earth spell, and called roots to grow and tangle around the Ice Dragon helping to keep him in place to give Damein a little more time. grabbing my comunicator... she said. Damein i am on my way i am not far off.. Do you want me to try, and distract it or do you want me to get you out of there??

Name: Lotharian
Status Within the Team: Wizard Expert
Age: 46
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Weapons: The Staff of Magius (Allows him to channel magic in a more direct and destructive manner)
Robes of the Archmagi (once allowed Lotharian to cast spells more easily, now he wears them for their protective value against the magic now found in the artifacts)
Appearence: He wears brown, simple robes and his once black hair now has a healthy touch of silver to it, giving him a wisened look. He is physically pleasing, with a well kept short beard. Though he is physically smaller, it is said his eyes can stop a man dead in their tracks with their steely gaze.

Bio:

He was a Wizard back in his younger years, before the magics were shattered. It has been 20 years of self-blame for the events that took place, and that he helped along. He is along the ride to give his inside knowledge of the wizards as to know where traps could be and as to where artifacts can be hidden. Also, to help decipher puzzles and to aid the other members of the team with his experience.

He is hear for one reason though, that he hasn't told anyone. He is here to find some way to fix the damage done and bring magic back full force. And to help ensure the same mistakes of before don't happen again.

"Kresh'fal!"

Veldin frowned faintly as the small imp turned red inside its summoning circle.

"Fire sympathy? That's not what should be..."

He was interrupted by Damien's distress call and sighed, standing up. He was dressed in shoes, tight pants and an open jacket, all of black leather. It certainly displayed his graceful body rather well and met the sinister yet helpless reputation that followed the strange elf. But the reason he wore the outfit was that it was made of demon leather, a magic insulant quite useful when experimenting with volatile energies.

"Mortals...never any foresight" he muttered and ran gracefully up on deck, being able from afar to survey the situation. A faintly satisfied smile came to his lips as he quickly moved to the large steel engine which had had the final word in buying his place onboard.

The Elemental Cannon.

Nimbly maneuvering several gears and levers, he turned the large tube until it was aiming directly at the chest of the dragon. He checked on the crystals set into the weapon's base and then touched a rune on a stone panel, watching as it slowly began to glow with red light. Snapping open his com he opened a channel to Damien and Rhannon "I suggest you two try to get out of the line of fire. I've got a level 4 fireball waiting to meet some ice scale."

Tanya was sitting in her quarters, booted feet propped up on a table and sipping whiskey from a silver flask. A bad habit, one picked up from years of riding the desets and high plains of the West and not yet dropped.

"Guys! I'm in a little problem here!"

Course ya are, she thought. That's whatcha get for goin' in alone, not waitin' for the rest of us.

Still, he was the leader, and it was thanks to him that she wasn't still in the West, staring down at an endless string of Wannabes, waiting for that one bullet with her name on it.

She stowed the flask in a duster pocket, grabbed her shotgun and cracked it open. As she stood and made her way to the airship's observation deck, she slipped in two shells. As she stepped out, she saw Veldin ready the Elemental Cannon.

"I suggest you two try to get out of the line of fire. I've got a level 4 fireball waiting to meet some ice scale."

She grinned, and stood back to watch the show.

Lotharian was in his room in the Jiyuu ship. He didn't know why he was here really... He had tried artifact hunting shortly after Wizard War, and he's many scars left from it. He's had many ask, but he's never answered anyone. The whole thing was something he kept to himself.

Ah... that's right. He was here to bring back magic. And that this ship was full of kids who didn't know two shits about REAL magic. They had grown up in a world nearly free of it thanks to what Lotharian and his kind had done.

The walls of the room were lined with now nearly useless spellbooks from his youth, bound in black leather with blue runes that once seemed to glow with an inner life. Now they were only reference tools. Along with various bottles of components from a time now lost, seeming to have happened centuries ago, while only happening twenty years ago....

This was one of his first missions with the Jiyuu crew. So far, he had barely left his study except when talking to them of the properties of dragons. Many held magics back in the glory days, and had great cashes of magical artifacts and tressures that COULD have survived the 'Sundering' as he and some of the other remaining wizards called it.

And it seemed their 'fearless leader', or more foolish he thought, decided to try and steal an artifact from a dragon BY HIMSELF. He wasn't surprised at the many shouts he was hearing. Lotharian turned his head out of the window of his 'Old timers room' as some on the ship called it, and saw the great beast.

It was a shame they were going to kill it... their kind is becoming more and more rare after the Sundering. "Kids now adays..." Lotharian muttered as he brought out a new piece of parchment and wrote 'Notes on the Crystal Mask' as the heading.

'Another day, another artifact... another being of magic slain...' Lotharian thought with a sigh. Making sure to brace himself and his inkwell for the upcoming sudder.

Lilith had been on the deck idly watching the captain risk his neck more then once She did nothing unlike most of the crew, her own room stifling to her at this moment. It was piled to the rafters with dusty tomes that spoke of the ancient lands before the great war as well as life after it. Sometimes she felt her brain would explode. She found solace in it though, the text, the feel of the parchment, the smell of the old leather it calmed her.

Aparently she seemed to be the only calm one as she toyed with a chess peice as she watched the theatrics going on outside her window. "Right shoot it, kill it!" she mused sarcastically as she set the peice back down on the board and leaned back in the chair crossing her legs. Her raven hair fell into her eyes as she leaned forward once more her pale fingers moving a black peice, "Check..." she said in a soft laugh as she turned her attention back out the window.

Adewen heard Veldin over the com and quickly flew in twords Damein so that she could catch him as he dove out of the line of fire. Flying up with Damein holding onto her she rleased her spell as they headed back for the ship making sure to stay out of Veldin's way.

She was willing to fight to save Damein's life but she wasnt willing to attack a defensless dragon.. Defensless she thought.. ha that was funny... but she released her spell all the same.. it just wasnt right.. she had to give it a fighting chance at life. Lets get you back to the Jyiuu boss.. She said knowing that the wind would carrie her words to him.

Gripping Rhannons hand, I got back in the ship. I got up, and looked back at the roaring dragon. It wanted its mask. It's a shame it's mine now. I quickly rushed to side Veldin, and I put a hand on his shoulder. "Don't kill it."

I told him. "I think it suffered enough with my yells." I laughed at my own joke in my head. "Shoot a Light-Type blast towards the mountain. Keep it small. The dragon may believe it's the mask reflecting light from the sun." It was a good plan... I hoped. It could confuse the dragon, with enough time to escape.

She chuckles, as she watched with pretended disinterest as Damien told Veldin not to kill the dragon. Tanya seriously doubts this will work, but there's not much she can do right now. At this range, none of her guns would even phase the dragon. Once it got closer, then a lucky shot might do some damage. Still, playing around with a dragon was a bad idea at the best of times.

"So did ya get it, boss?"

"Of course!" I shouted proud.

I showed off the Crystal Mask to my comrades. "Wonder if it's useful? Heh, or maybe, Maybe I'd get a good price for this!" I said, smiling. "If that's the case. Dinner's on me tonight. But..." I turned to Veldin. "First, let's lose the dragon."

With out killing it... Rhannon said stepping forward her sword in its sheath and her wings folded down behind her. She looked back twords the dragon. It truly was a magnificent creature and from what she had read about them also extreamly intellegent.. More so then most any human. How did you get past its spells and traps to get the mask? Rhannnon asked looking over at Damein. It must have been hard.. You shouldnt have gone in alone it was foolish. Brave, but foolish.

"Yeah, I don't know much about dragons ... but I do know they ain't something you wanna deal with alone. Hey, we're in this together, boss, ain't we?"

She grinned softly.

Veldin nodded nurtly, seeming to catch nothing of the exuberant mood as Damien landed on deck. He merely pulled a long lever, never flinching as the engine roared to life and a tightly focused ball of fire energy sped whirling from the cannon, directly at the dragon's chest, where it exploded in a blinding cloud of flames.

The dragon roared loudly in pain and staggered back a little. No scorchmark was to be seen on its body, but the discharge of heat had clearly weakened it.

"There...that should give it second thoughts about following" bowing ever faintly to the do, Veldin tapped the rune that shut the cannon down before turning, apparently with the intent of returning to his experiments.

"Good work. And the reason I went alone..." I began to say, as my voice trailed.

My eyes were on the Crystal Mask. It was such a beaut. It better have some worth while magic.

"...You all looked so calm when you were sleeping, so I went ahead to get it. Didn't expect to run into a dragon."

Lotharian stormed out of the lower decks with a stern look upon his face, looking at Damien harshly. The boy not only nearly got himself killed, but he RISKED THE ARTIFACT! Leaders need not only be charismatic. They needed other things as well, but it seemed it would take him to snap some sense into him.

"And what is it that YOU were doing!?!" Lotharian said harshly, pointing his staff at Damien to ensure there was no confussion. "Trying to get yourself killed and destroy a priceless artifact?"

Lotharian watched and awaited for whatever excuse he or the other members of this crew could make. And awaiting to tear it apart.

Rhannon waited holding her toung and waited to see what Dameins reaction would be. He new that what he had done was foolish, but Rhannon new that it was his way to risk his own neck rather than that of his crew.. No matter how foolish it may be.

Rhannon looked back out twords the dragon tho Veldin had shot at the dragon rather than where Damein had told him to the dragon looked to be heading back into its cave. Rhannon prayed that it wasnt hurt badly, but wasnt about to go check and become a snack.
