Today is the Transgender Day of Remembrance - a day to reflect and mourn those lost to transphobic violence.

I'd like to move to Brighton in the UK, because it's such an inclusive town... and it's by the sea. This year I'll link to their community page for the day. In past years I've joined the vigil in Sheffield but since I've moved, I'm quite. distance from any gathering. Join me in thoughts, be positive, we'll get through this :rose:

We simply want to be useful people in a society that accepts us - we're not expecting concessions, just equality.

I am going to add the usual disclaimer for when I see TDoR stuff - please do not wish someone a "happy" TDoR or any similar sentiment. TDoR events are more akin to a funeral. We go to remember our dead, the ones lost to violence and hate, who died too young.

Personally, I prefer that cis folks who don't have a personal tie to the trans community maybe consider another event to attend, if all you want to do is show support. But YMMV and if you've been invited and want to go, then do what feels right to you.
