More than 30 cents of every state tax dollar goes to Medicaid."
— Elizabeth Roberts

What are they trading ?

The rights of American workers, the rights of women, and the rights of American citizens.

Who is being sacrificed, in order that this agreement go through ?

Women.

Say good bye to your low paying job. It is being outsourced.
Say good bye to your right to say no to fracking.
Say good bye to Medicaid coverage.
Say good bye to access to generic drugs.
Say goodbye to safe food.
Say good bye to clean and safe water.
Say good bye to clean air.

TAA --Trade Adjustment Assistance.

Give assistance to U.S. workers who lost their jobs, because they were displaced by trade agreements.

The TAA will be paid for by cutting Medicaid.

Trans Pacific Partnership countries would be guaranteed equal treatment with U.S. firms when bidding on government contracts.

Our American tax dollars would be underwriting other countries.

"This disastrous deal would extend the world’s dependence on fracked gas, forbid our negotiators from ever using trade agreements in the fight against global warming, and make it easier for big polluters to burn carbon while suing anyone who gets in the way.”

As more of the nation’s income flows to large corporations and Wall Street and to those whose earnings and wealth derive directly from them, the greater is their political influence over the rules of the market, which in turn enlarges their share of total income. The more dependent politicians become on their financial favors, the greater is the willingness of such politicians and their appointees to reorganize the market to the benefit of these moneyed interests. The weaker unions and other traditional sources of countervailing power become economically, the less able they are to exert political influence over the rules of the market, which causes the playing field to tilt even further against average workers and the poor.

Pelosi and other Democrats also pointed out the poison pills that Republican leaders added to the trade adjustment assistance and to a third, customs enforcement bill to satisfy the anti-spending, anti-environment and anti-immigrant factions in the Republican Party.

Do I look like a rubber stamp?” asked Rep. Donna Edwards, D-Md. “We’re not going to accept a deal that sells away our jobs, that damages our food and that keeps our workers from succeeding in the 21st century. Hell, no.”

TPP wouldn't just empower foreign governments to sue the U.S. over bank regulations;

It would allow individual companies and investors to sue governments in an independent court, often staffed by corporate lawyers, over policies that they argue would hurt their profits.

Such a system could cost the United States billions of dollars in fines, in addition to potentially undermining important environmental and consumer safeguards.

Sen. Ted Cruz would insert language in the fast track bill that would prohibit trade agreements that alter any immigration law, regulation or policy.

Sen. Jeff Sessions sponsors amendment that would prohibit the fast-track procedures from applying to any pacts containing immigration provisions.

Sen. Dan Sullivan, Republican of Alaska filed an immigration amendment to TPA.

Republican Rep. Sensenbrenner of Wisconsin, no trade deals can compel the United States to address climate change.

Steve King, Republican of Iowa, asks for a provision would prohibit future trade deals from loosening immigration laws.

Sen. Bob Menendez (D-N.J.),amendment would prevent Congress from "fast tracking" any treaties with countries considered by the State Department to be far out of compliance with international standards on human trafficking.

Ultimately, from what few details are known, it’s clear that this treaty serves the interests of multinational corporations at the expense American worker.
