I've looked through the Ask a TG thread and couldn't find the discussion, or rather slap-down, that I got for saying that the Thai nurses in my hospital in Bangkok, warned me about the attitudes towards transgender people. I was told I was talking out my hat, and to be fair, I never came across any anti-trans sentiment when I was there, but then guests are traditionally with great respect and I was staying in a nice place and I'm white. What happens in bars and sex joints in Bangkok is business, and good customer relations means keep smiling and nodding.
So here's an article that supports what the nurses told me

and another

I'll always believe what I hear with my own ears and take anything from Lit with a pinch of salt.
