Just before bringing my puppy home I decided to quit smoking. I was getting tired of shelling out the money to buy them and the mints and hand wash that I used afterwards. Besides it’s not good for me and I didn’t want to bring a puppy in who’d have to deal with second hand smoke.
You might have noticed my sudden raging need for coffee the past couple of days. This confused me since I haven’t touched the stuff since High School. I’ve always considered myself more of an herbal tea kinda person. Well I figured it out. The need for caffeine replaces my need for nicotine. Healthy huh?

Healthier.

It is interesting that many of these addictive substances, cocaine, nicotine, caffiene, even some parts of chocolate, all share a similar alkyloid chemistry. Of them all chocolate (which has caffiene in it too) is probably the least harmful - try some hot cocolate instead - but if coffee helps you go cold turkey on tobacco, then use it for that purpose until you are sure of yourself, then wean yourself from that.

And if you manage to avoid another chemical dependency, you often wind up with an emtional dependency, like AA or church or something...

As far as I've experienced all kinds of addiction it's a zero-zero situation.
When I quit smoking years ago for 6months, my sweet tooth grew and i gained weight.

I don't know, should we? I hear it works out better if you quit with someone...

how does that work anyway? does it mean I get to wake you up at 2am whenever I get a craving? wait that sounds wrong. you know what I mean

Having a quitting buddy does help. I quit years ago and luckily my quitting buddy happened to be my at work smoking buddy! I do advise that you watch your food intake, I gained several pounds afterwards!

Good luck you two!

Ummm...if you like? I don't know exactly how it works, really, but if you have a craving for something other than a cigarette...;)

I was speaking of cigarettes.

Well, I can talk you out of any craving you've got! (It isn't as though I'm going to be at your beck and call for sexual favors...I don't even know you!)

:D You've got to get that J.B. dictionary. It helps when you're trying to decode what I say.

probably. there are a few that after mastering this language really do't need it anymore

I quit cold about 2 years ago ...and I do remember increased use of caffeine ...it's normal it'll pass ...

...when your teeth turn brown ;)

some people are right to ...sex is the best thing to keep your mind of cigarettes
