I am not sure if this is just a common thing but many male friends have mentioned to me that I am normally touching my boobs in public, adjusting bra or whatever. I never really paid much mind to it until my friend from South Africa mentioned to be that for the past 2 years in college ( i sit with him at a study area) he has enjoyed watching me touch myself. In college, I used to walk around braless 90 per cent of the time....i did it partly because it's comfortable, but primarily because I thought guys liked it. I never thought i was that attractive, but I have always liked my boobs...I was a 32C by the time I was 16, and have topped out at a DD for a short while, and now they've settled into nice Ds...

In addition to that, (and i think this is what you were asking about) I often purposely got my nipples hard before entering a room, lots of times before class I'd stop in the bathroom and just spend a minute or two pinching and pulling on my nipples, then go straight in....or if I had a cold drink with me, I would lift up my t-shirt and hold it on my nips until they got rockhard, then go in. Sometimes if I had to go pee during class, I'd leave, get my nips hard, and come back in.

So, to answer your question, as a chick I don't think you're that "out there", but i was talking to some people at a party recently, and told them what I just told you, and they were totally surprised/thought I was weird or something (the girls did, the guys who were listening thought it was awesome...lol...).

Well this is certainly interesting, I could never get myself to go braless in public, I have a inbetween cup size at a extra full D pouring into a DD.
I never made my nipples hard on purpose like your story but I would touch them, move around my bra, push them together, pull them out of bra and just rub my nipples if they were sore which for me happens a lot. Maybe you have an improperly-fitting bra. If you think so, hit a store with a good reputation that specifically offers bra-fitting services.
My problems were all caused because my band-size was one-inch too small.
