Ok i'm new to Literotica and have a question. I submitted my first three stories as .doc files and I just noticed that my first story was now posted in the text block and has been changed to "new" vice "pending." The submission date is the same though.
This is not something I did. Is this part of the process for submissions? Thanks in advance for any replies.

The submission date stays the same, yes. The date in your story file will remain forever the date you submitted it, not the date it was in fact published. "New" means it will go live on the next server refresh (usually midnight somewhere in USA time).

If it has changed from new to pending, it should go online tonight.

Good luck with it!

Midnight, Pacific Standard Time.

thank you for the replies. First of many stories hopefully :)
Welcome to LIT's league of word donors. You'll find patience to be the greatest virtue here. Don't expect anything to happen fast.

Suggestions: Make sure you have PMs (private messages) enabled. Put a link to your stories in your .sig line, like this:

http://www.literotica.com/stories/memberpage.php?uid=1631381&page=submissions

And don't fret over crude, murderous, and/or insane comments. LIT's readership is rather diverse i.e. full of loonies as well as decent folk. Grow a thick skin. Laugh a lot. Have fun!

Midnight, Pacific Standard Time.

Actually, midnight Eastern Standard Time. Depending.

For PC's it's midnight EST or a little after as the servers are in Florida.

For the Lit App, it's a later, possibly midnight PST.

Oh, yes, to the OP, welcome to lit.

And if it is New it will publish tomorrow morning early. :)
Good luck.

Let's hope so and hope that your writing and publication experience is a fruitful and enjoyable one.

Take your time to look around, get your bearings, and read some of the how-tos. There's a lot of nonsense in the boards but there's a lot of good advice too.

For instance, check out the blue-highlighted "sticky" threads at the top of the Author's Hangout Board. You'll find a lot of what you need to know. Literotica can be somewhat frustrating to navigate because it is not always possible to get where you want to go through links from a central hub.

To understand categories, read this: https://literotica.com/s/love-your-readers-categories. It's worth your while. Questions about categories take up a big slice of AH space and this article helps more than anything else I know.

None of my submissions have ever gone online at Midnight, EST. When I have been able to check, they went up at 3AM, which is Midnight PST. I do not use the app.

I start seeing the new ones about midnight EST or just a little after, on a PC. They show up about 10 at a time every half hour or so.

I'm in east Texas. Servers are in Florida.

I saw my last chaptered thing go live every two days at 3.00pm my Oz time, which, give or take a few time zones is midnight somewhere in the US, the day before.

I've noticed the stories going online generally around midnight PST. But not always. I've had stories published at 11pm PST and several hours after midnight PST. So it's easy to get confused.

Dude, this is the 21st Century. Staying up late and watching the computer screen is what it's all about.

Well, dayum...and slap my knee! Someone up above here said there's a lot of good info here, and by golly they were right. Is there any hard rules to it, or do you just stare at it awhile past midnight? What time a night can you quit and get to bed and still be up to date and be a 21st centenarian and such?

These are hard questions to give clear answers to. The size and resolution of the monitor screen have a lot to do with it.

Sometimes my husband doesn't get home from work until very late at night. I will often sleep for a while and get up when he comes in.

This probably ain't none of my business, it being late night goings on we're taking about...but do you two stare at the same screen once he git's in or do y'all have your own screens? Seems like sharing would be more cozy, but then I'm old and out of fashion. I'd say he'd be a mighty fine feller if he sits up watching it with you until the story appears though.

As the post says. Thanks eveyrone :)

Welcome to the fun house. As you can see, there's a wealth of experience here...and some really nice folks. Another good Forum once you've got some stories up is the Story Feedback...that's where you can get some actual input/feedback/critique on your work...and learn from some of the best. Good luck and have fun ~ :rose:

He's not a big internet guy, although we did set up a joint Pornhub account. That's been an interesting experience. Usually, he will watch some sportsball game he recorded earlier in the evening while I try to distract him. I generally succeed, as long as the game isn't too close.

That's sweet. I can remember times like that. Then there were kids and suddenly our schedules didn't make so much difference.

This sounds like a "hook" for a really good story...one I fear may never be told :( Interesting Experiences...a journey of love by MelissaBaby

Sitting up watching a screen, whether data or video or whatever, is quieter and more soporific that sitting up watching a teleprinter churn away at 300 baud. But the teleprinter can be stashed in a closet while y'all sleep or whatever; you can scan its output tomorrow. Good for the birdcage, too. The bird is the word.
