Totally confused

I submitted a new story yesterday and it's pending. So far so good. Last night though I checked it because my last story went up pretty quickly. It was still pending, but it showed three hits. I figured that meant that Laurel was looking at it and it would go up on the board soon.

Just now though I checked to see if it was up and it still showed pending. That's no big deal, but now it shows nine hits. I don't get it. Has anyone else had this happen to them or know anything about why this is happening?

Happens to me to. Perhaps they don't believe the story the first time and come back to it to decide whether to publish or reject.

Thanks, good to know I'm not the only one. You could be right, they may want to review it again though I'm a little surprised if that's the case here. This is a very vanilla story. Oh well, guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens.

maybe she didn't get time to finish it. could have been she was doing several things at once and opened the story but didnt actually read it. just a guess

The first story I ever posted was rejected because the coding got arsed up and was complete giberish but it still got about half a dozen hits!

Actually Laurel just PM'd me and said that the reason for it was my own clicks. I did some editing to it after I saw what it looked like on line and apparently that counts. Then when I checked it last night that totted up the count too. Oops!
