Most of my story ideas have either come from true experiences of my own, or the experiences of my best friend and her husband. (If you've ever read my stories you can guess that they are a biracial couple.

it all depends on your reasons for reading erotica.

Some people read it because they are curious about things that other people do. Therefore they might look for stories that reflect that.

Other like me read erotica for similar reasons to why I read non erotic fiction. Its just a form of relaxation and an escape from everyday life, therefore almost anything is makes interesting reading from husband and wife to husband and elf.

whether true life makes for the best stories depends on your intended audience. I personally like to mix.

I almost never use my personal experiences when I write my stories. It's too personal. Plus, I don't want anyone to recognize themselves. I've only submitted ONE story to Lit that is 100% true and from my own life - and that's a Non-Erotic one. Read it here!

I think writing about my true experiences are to unbelievable. Take a look at my picture posts and you will get a hint into what I'm talking about.

Taboo stuff seems more interesting to me, especially incest. My friend Lexium is an exception to that rule as she has blinded a mix of her real life with the dramatics of fiction.

Basically, the blind adds a bit of realism to fiction.

Facts just are; when an author writes a story it has to be believable at some level to succeed.

An example: A political thriller based on a US presidential election result which is so close that it hangs on the interpretation of a few marginally mis-marked voting papers in one county. No publisher would look at it as it is too unbelievable.

Semi-fiction in my case, I've written a lot from past experience and anecdotal information from friends.

Never yet a work of pure fact, then again never yet a work of pure fiction, I need a starting block, and factual events usually give me that, most times that's as far as the fact bit goes, just the idea as it were.
Then it's change all the names, alter the location a bit, add a couple more guys to the gang bang, spice it all up with some horny language that wasn't actually used in the real life event, and hey presto a fictional account.

Only once did I ever use a real name attached to the appropriate character, that was at the direct request of the person involved, "name me or I won't let you write it", were his words, and I think he meant it.

personally i like to take aspects of real life and just embellish. I like to use characters that are based off of people i know or have seen. It seems to make my stories easier to write, although the characters might not be perfect models, i find making them seem like average people makes the story better. kinda like how i like amature porn over over produced stuff with pornstars and fake bodies.

Hmmmm...I always keep my personal experiences seperate from my erotica. I mean it's the real me as I truly am in all my stories, but I never post fantasies from my sexual past. The whole kiss & tell ideal...

However, in my experience, the best "thankyou" to give a lover is to sit down and write a story to her describing your every thrill & thought from the encounter the night before. That way they feel appreciated, wanted, and they know what parts of the encounter you enjoyed the most so that they know what you like. Plus, they get all excited remembering the lusty encounter as well as from reading something so personal & sexy. So it's win-win as well as being good for the relationship.

Aside from in personal email stories (love those!) shared between someone, my fantasies are all make-believe. At most they're based on something, but that covers a LOT of territory to say that.

Whatever inspires you most though, go for it...everyone needs a Muse...and dang I seem to have misplaced mine. Dang...

Most of my stories are based on what i wish were real life experiences. The beginnings start as true life events and skew off into fantasy. I find that truth/real life is much better (and arousing) than any fiction could be, because the characters are so much more believable.


The only stories that are 100% fantasy are my incest writings, which although i have no real-life intentions for it, I find the taboo of it in written form is quite a thrill.
