Top 5 purchases of all time, and why?

iMac - Besides using it for work and craft, it's an all-in-one media center. Do everything, play everything. Had mine since 2011, went bust on me only once, sent it to the hospital, had some of the guts upgraded during the fix, runs like buttah. May buy a new one next year since the tech has changed with the internals and the cinematic Retina screens.

iPhone 6s Plus - Use it mainly because I'm a Mac person from jump and it's just sugar sweet overall. It makes being on the go more comfortable. I'll upgrade eventually, but I don't have a need to currently and I don't see this model going out of style for a while. I also like having a headphone port, the 7's going wireless is a kind of turn-off even though it's the way the future.

Suihanki/Rice cooker - You can be very creative with these; they can do more than just cook rice. The one I'm currently using is a basic digital readout model over ten years old and still rocks. I keep thinking to upgrade to a ritzier fuzzy logic model with 'puter screen and other bells and whistles-type shit, but it's not a necessity at this point and my old boy has stuck with me without giving up, so I ain't giving up on him. However, those hi-tech Zojirushi joints are kick-ass. Kinda wanna getta. :D

Indigo denim jacket - It goes with just about anything you wear and you can rock it nearly anywhere at almost any time of the year. Mine was from the Gap (from their 1969 Heritage line) and it was a perfect match, no fancy frills or fashion-designey crap, just straight up classic cut. Had been looking for a good one for ages. Forgot exactly when I bought mine - maaaybe seven or eight years ago - but it was pretty fresh denim stiff when I got it. Now it's super broken-in, got those nice lived-in fades and worn-down edges that only come from living life, not pre-cut effect.

Black Adidas track pants - There's several different kinds, the ones I like are the Original Superstar Cuff that aren't body-tight but straight fitted with the stripes that go all the way down. Fuckers are comfortable as fuck. Outside of denims, I don't wanna wear anything else. They go nice with my oxblood Docs (which probably counts for the sixth top purchase I've made.) I'm getting seven pairs for every day of the week eventually. Black ones are the ultimate freshness to rock, but I might get some greys and dark blues as well.

Track suit pants are also great for rain running in SoCal on the cooler days. You don't need any more insulation than those.

I'm more concerned with why you have to pay to have a place to fish for trout. I thought canuckland was full of lakes and rivers.

Up north, yes. But I am in SW Ontario. The tropics! Flat farms lands with all the soil scrapped off the Canadian Shield by glaciers. Waters are typically too warm for large populations of resident trout. Plus large human population would eat up any available ones.

There is some nice sport fishing trout rivers but they typically need periodic stockings of fish.

Plus my club is right in town. Started in 1875. Bought the property in 1925 when it was still outside city limits. Now is a part of a 300 acre ESA.

Club costs 160 a year including a spot for my boat. Two trout per day limit. I can easily catch 200 trout per year. Grocery store charges $8+. Wild trout are skinny things compared to stocked trout. Trout we get are usually destined for grocery stores.

Stock pond with 2400lbs a year. Trout are 14-18 inches long and 1.5-2 lbs in weight.

Pond is mesotropic and is far too warm and stratified for a native population.

Open area at lower right of map. We are the pond just past the E in Southdale Rd E.

wait a second, i have an electric toothbrush and visit the dentist twice a year. well, technically the dental hygienist. She does always say my teeth are very clean.

I don't have dental insurance.

Do other people only go once every two years?

Black leather motorcycle grade leather jacket I've had for 25 years. Stories that thing could tell!

1. K2 812 giant slalom skis - I had more fun on those boards than I deserved. Skied the bases down to where they finally wouldn't hold any more p-tex to fill the gouges.

2. Health club membership - After years of fighting a bad back and being severely limited in indulging my passion for golf, joining a health club and turning myself over to three different fitness trainers over the past three years has literally given me my life back. Lost 20 pounds the first two months and another 15 over the past year. And it's staying off.

3. Vacation home - Getting in shape inspired me to take the next step. Just bought a second property down south. No more freezing in the winter and hanging up the golf clubs for six months. Now I'll have nine months of perfect play weather and only suffer three months of summer humidity up north.

4. Dagger Animas whitewater kayak - Not so much the boat itself, but the people and rivers it took me to.

5. Odyssey putter - It's a great putter. I'm a horrible putter. But if I ever become a good putter, it will be because of this club.

3. Food service

I hate cooking. I hate the time it takes, the effort, the clean-up, and it's not my talent. I do like food, however, and I especially like it when a delicious meal is brought to my front door without having to bother anyone I know, or do anything other than heat it up. There's a ton of varieties to choose from as well. And healthy ones. Time saved + good for health + yum = winner.

Rory, if I can ask, which food service do you use? I'm getting tired of TV dinners. I wouldn't mind having some delicious food sent to my home. Have you got a site or anything?

Hmm... tough...

I'm going with:

1. All 33 pairs of ballet flats I own. I could not choose just one pair.

2. My first car. It was a second hand little hatchback but I sold it for more than I paid for it three years after buying it, and that funded an around the world backpacking trip. Some of the greatest experiences and adventures of my life were had thanks to that car. Also, I had my first uncomfortable car sex in that thing. Aaah memories.

3. The weekly services of an ironing lady. Fuck I hate ironing, especially business shirts. No way.

4. My Thermomix. Hot. Wet. Rice.

5. Tissot watch bought while on holiday in Switzerland in 1998. Worn day in/day out ever since and looks as good as the day I got it, and has had two battery changes in that time. It was pricey for the day and the circumstance, but it has been timeless in look and quality.

1. I've never owned ballet flats
2. I've never owned a hatchback, been backpacking, or had car sex
3. I've never owned an iron
4. No idea what that is, even after skimming the video
5. I don't own a watch.

Otherwise we're a perfect match!

It all depends on where you live re: what's available, but Munchery is my current one. They have dishes from local chefs who I'm actually familiar with. Meals go for about $7 - $12.

I don't think we live too far apart. I'll check out Munchery, thanks!

Wow. Meals by local chefs. I was expecting them to be A Lot more expensive.
Awesome thing

They have a similar thing over here, but they're strictly for the elderly or those who can't cook for themselves.(those who had a fracture, have a disability so on)

I'll have to think. iPhone. I was years behind my friends with technology. Fish oil. I took this before it was cool and now I can breathe underwater. A bracelet from a dealer in Jamaica. I'm not a judgmental person. I have to come up with two more?
