Top 25 Calvin & Hobbes strips....

Ha! Dran, you rock! LOVE C&H...

and "You've taught me nothing except how to cynically manipulate the system."

is my fav :cathappy:

Tie between "HE is one of the old gods, He demands sacrifice" and "Scientific PRogress goes 'boink".

Watterson is a pure genius and the papers should be kissing his feet to get him to write again.

And Joss Whedon should be king of Hollywood!

Ok my rant on art and creativity is done now.

That's a great site. Thanks for sharing it with us. They picked good strips, but they left out so many more.

Thanks for sharing the site. C & H are one of the best comics out there. I crack up with every strip I read of theirs.

check out http://www.gocomics.com/calvinandhobbes/

Thelink is to the "current" C&H cartoon, but ther are links to the most "recent" 30 days without registering. I believe registeration give access to the entire collection since they started reposting C&H a couple of years ago.

I have all the Calvin & Hobbes collections, 10 years worth of the comic strip plus the 10th anniversary retrospective. I consider it one of my best investments. Gotta love C&H

My favorite strips were always the snowman ones though. As adults we always grumble and complain about the snow, Waterson manages to capture the feeling of joy and excitment it always brought, me atleast, as a kid. Waterson actually manages to do that with a lot of topics in the strip, that's what made it so great.

My all-time favorite is a Sunday comic, full page.

It's Calvinball, of course, and the strip contains the progressive play. It ends with "The score is still Q to 12!"

I love Calvin and Hobbes. Thanks, Dran.

Monkey brains? Really?

Hmmm - monkey brains?

Ha ha ha

I remember all of these I've read them so many times.

There's one I remember Calvin is bugging his mom for money and she won't let him have any, so finally he asks if he can have some soap. She says exasperatedly, sure he can have all the soap he wants.

Next panel you see Calvin sitting at a card table in the front yard by the car, the windshield has written on it in soap: "4 SALE CHEEP"

Part of me misses Calvin and Hobbes desperately.

Another part of me really respects Bill for going out while he was still hot and fresh, and not telling the same (bad) joke for years like Cathy, Ziggy, Family Circus, etc.

Great post.

You missed one!

Mine has to be the classic one, full color sunday spread: Calvin is mucking about with his bowl of oatmean, when his imagination pops up and makes the blob of inedible glop come to life, and Calvin chases it trying to kill it. Of course, Mom sees the mess, gets frustraited and blames the boy's behavior on the "father's chromasome", not hers.

The dad just sulks behind his newspaper, muttering "I just live here." ^_^

It has my favorite Calvin line: "YAAAH! DEATH TO OATMEAL!" :D

Of course the Transmogrifier is a hoot... also the long poems in the Calvin & Hobbe's collections are the absolute best!

*sigh* miss Bill's strip muchly. ^_^

Maintain and Check Six!

Thanks for that. I absolutely adore C&H !!!

My most favoruite of all time is a little hard to describe. And I don't own it actually, so I can just recall....

There was little talk anyways. We saw Calvin throughout the day. Getting up early - still sleepy. Having to get ready for school - more dissapointed. Standing in the rain waiting for the bus - annyoed. Getting an "F" for a test at school - head on the table. Coming home in the worst of moods - then he's attacked by Hobbes and they fight. Right after that in the last panel he's asked by his mom or dad, "How's your day?"

Calvin replies, "Getting better." :) Soooo sweet.
