I know this contest doesn't start until the end of March, but does anyone have any ideas brewing yet?

I'd like to do better on this contest than I did on the Valentine's Day one. (Any one have any tips on how to get votes? I didn't even generate enough to register for the contest!)

votes- you need to promote your story to your friends. Ask them to ask their friends to visit/vote. Then beg authors on the contest thread to vote for you. I liked your story, and can't fathom why it failed to get votes. Other ideas- shorter stories get more votes. Stories in "popular" categories will get visits ( votes?) off the "new" index as well as the contest index.

Earth Day topics are tough for me. Outdoor sex is a broad topic, so deceptively easy.

The old swimming hole is done to death.

Poison Ivy might be a nice ironic twist, but does not a story make. Maybe you can build on that.

Lovers meet at an Earth Day rally?

A teacher is really impressed when the jock stud quarterback ( or stereotypical dumb blonde cheerleader) does an Earth Day presentation in class? Seeing the student in a new light, acts on the forbidden desire....

Something clever on " the birds and the bees"? Maybe sex ed field trip to observe copulation in nature?

Nudist colony is a cheap and easy setting to qualify, and build a group sex/incest/loving wives story around. But then what do you do for National Nude Day?

Tree planting volunteers lost in the woods overnight huddle up to stay warm?

As you can see, I do not yet have a GOOD idea....

Well, any start is a good start. :) I just wanted to get some ideas since nothing else was coming to me yet. But, it's early still. :)

As for the votes, I don't have too many friends who use the net so there's no one to ask. I was just hoping being listed in the contest and having the links on my sig would help. Maybe I'll do better next time?

I don't play contests just getting around to my holloween story in a few weeks now.

What hugs said is about the truth run run as fast as you can. You can't catch me I'm the ginger bread man! Contest seem to make for poorly written stories. Of course I dont beg either so that seems to be half the deal. Write, post, beg, plead, and loose.

WHATEVER!

Earthday? That must be a holiday my company refuses to pay the worthless workers to stay home. I am not sure I remember having that day off as a child in school?

With the whole Mars rover thing you could take it out of this world. Yea that will be original.

OK how about a masturbation story? Please no comments! until you have read it through. This guy is hard up being an older single man who runs a bait shop and after a day of watching the fine youngwomen scamper up and down the board walk with next to nothing on. He closes shop and without the slippery feel of a woman he looks around.

"Ah!" says the old man. heading over to the display case in the front of the store. Picking up the fine woven shiner net he moves back to the rear of the store. There he scoops himself a gross of earth worms all bunched in a ball.

They slither and move with such ease. He pokes his finger into the twining mass of slick creatures as they curl and tighten around his finger.

The phone rings, placing down the net swiftly he answers, "Heeloo, 'Helo' Johns bait and tackle. ____ Yes we offer fishing tours_____ yes,__ tonight! such short notice will cost you extra ma'am. Just you and your husband?_____ fifteen minutes!____ you are in a hurry, OK I will be here and ready." Hanging up the phone.

Nah I was setting you up it is a wife lover story on the high seas.
(You go girl! There is a story that won't soon be forgotten!)

Insatiable' ...

Your comment ... about gathering ideas - I'm taking your words seriously here, and hope you receive my words in the same spirit offered.

I've pasted below a portion of my recent post elsewhere on Lit. I offer this to you, even at the risk of offending you, assuring you I offer it as one way for you to find your own inspired story.

Dare take the chance, take nature as your secret lover if but for an hour ...
Dance naked in the field with your moon cast shadow
Soak and luxuriate in the warm sunshine
Let the grass play with your toes curling in delight
Press your face to the sky as you shower in the rain
Let the wind howl as it laps at your skin
And if you dare, do thank mother earth with the gift of your orgasm, let it pulse deep into her

And, if someone should catch a passing glimpse of you, they will see someone in sweet passionate embrace with their lover.

(and, with thanks to Gibran for his words of deep inspiration that give rise to my following words):
Ahhhh, Insatiable', that the sky would behold less of your raiment ...
The sun beams to kiss your soft naked skin.
The south breeze delights to dance through your hair.
The earth yearns for the sweet massage of your toes.

Best wishes and sincerely,

Sky'

PS: I'll read, comment and vote on your story - be sure to let know when you're ready.

Sky,

Hello. :) I must admit, "embracing nature" can be a fun experience, though I've never done it by myself. :) I have, however, made love in the rain with a man and that was an experience I'll never forget.

I thank you for this approach to the Earth Day contest. This would be a great way to keep this "holiday" separate from National Nude Day in July! :)

the "love in the rain" based on actual experience might be fun.

InsatiableMe ...

You're welcome.

Making love in the rain with your lover... ahhhh. An experience certainly more powerful than the mere memory of it - an experience seemingly fertile ground for a story.

Then again, you can invite your lover along or "sneak off" by yourself for an hour or two for your first sacred "romp" with nature. ;)

I guess we'll just have to wait for your story.

Best wishes on your journey,

Sky'

the contest announcement is posted on the Author's Hangout forum, so I thought we ought bump this thread.

InsatiableMe, your AV would make an interesting starting point for an E.D. story...

Really, you think so? I don't see it quite as an "Earth Day" practice.

But I have got the works for a story now. This gal is going to an outdoor concert with some friends. Kinda like a Lilith Fair type of thing. Though she doesn't know it's a "lesbian rally", etc. She's not "bi curious". She's never even thought of women that way...

...But she becomes infatuated with a somewhat butchy older woman while at the event.

...and stuff happens...
;)

I like it so far...whats the attraction of the 'butchy woman' to the noncurious femme?

She's unaware that she has the "potential" to be gay/bi. After all, if you've never had an attraction to the same sex in the past how do you know? Until it happens...

And I see the other woman as a "soft butch", not some manly looking woman or whatever. Picture K. D. Lang. No make-up, but still attractive. :)
