Tonight's Debate (Yes... political thread)

I perceive the debate somewhat differently, imagine that!

I saw, in Obama, a weak, defensive position that was truly, for the first time, unpresidential in the Jimmy Carter mold.

In content, I saw Obama's answers and rebuttals, to be protective and defensive, as if he knew the results of the election and as if he carried the same left wing liberal attitude, "we are more intelligent and more compassionate than you and nothing you say matters..."

I suggest that, pundits, news and commentators notwithstanding, that the American public saw that debate as I did. McCain an experienced, well qualified and passionate man versus Obama, a shallow, inexperienced and unemotional caricature of a man.

But then, we shall see what we will.

I also have a question as to the voting public's oft expressed choices of not wanting either party to occupy all three departments of government. Does that mean they will vote for McCain, but load the congress with a democrat majority? Or the opposite, will the vote for Obama, but turn the House and Senate back to a Republican majority?

Silly season once again...

Amicus...

Amicus...

I'd pay more attention to your projections if on rare occasions they actually resembled reality.

All they do at this time is make me wish that I had a medical marijuana card like yours.

I'm beginning to suspect that Amicus is really Stephen Colbert without his sense of humor.

AMICUS

Apparently a lot of people agree with you. Today's Gallup Poll shows a virtual tie between Obama and McCain among likely voters. The big lead went pooof.

Only if you presuppose that republicans are more likely to vote than democrats, according to Gallup's explanations.

You don't really think that's going to happen?

Amicus has been sharing that smoke, hasn't he?
