"Tomorrow is not today."

This thought occured to me a short while ago. Obvious once stated, but how many times do we truly realize that? Turns out there are at least 41 other web sites that have this observation on it.

"Tomorrow never knows." Ah now we're cooking. At least 21,000 web sites referencing this bit of wisdom.

"Tomorrow never dies." Not quite as popular a notion as Tomorrow never knows but still, 52,700 web sites that want us to know this tidbit.

BTW - it turns out tomorrow is more popular than today. I could only find 3,340 sites sharing this bit of information: "Today is the first day of the rest of your life."

No one seems to want to take that concept to the next logical step which, of course, is: ""Yesterday is the day before the first day of the rest of your life"

But there are two sites who have taken to bold move of stating: "Tomorrow is the day after the first day of the rest of your life."

What do you think tomorrow is? Can you come up with a phrase that is totally unique yet insightful enough that someday there will be 10's of thousands of web sites that want to share your observation with the world?

I thought I came up with a good one:

"Tomorrow is not yesterday"... but there were 5 sites already on that bandwagon. "Tomorrow is not the day before yesterday"... BINGO - no sites sharing that wisdom - however, it just doesn't have the UMPH... the power to become a catch phrase, does it?

Here's my entry into the tomorrow sweepstakes:

Tommorow is an elephant pretending to be a lychee nut hiding in the pocket of a bright blue blazer.

It's a little wordy as far as sound bites go, but the imagery is cool.

How about "Tomorrow is a secret, yet to be whispered."

And tomorrow, what shall tomorrow bring to the overprudent dog burying bones in the trackless sand as he follows the pilgrims to the holy city?

Beautiful! I love it. The "yet to be whispered" part makes it unique... There are 3 sites that claim "tomorrow is a secret"... *grin*

Kahlil Gibran. Very evocotive. 133 sites.

Yesterday is the today you'll think about tomorrow.

A truism!!! And, near as I can tell, you've got the patent on it.

Ahhhhh... but your tomorrow is my today :)

*time zones  *

Amazingly enough - considering the time zone obviousness of your statement - there do not seem to be any websites promoting this particular sentiment.

Way to go.

Yo yo yo! Another unique statement. Tell me - how big is the closet? And was it a good party?

Actually - your interpretation IS unique... the songs lyrics actually are "I love YOU tomorrow"

I much prefer your version. *smile* However there is one poem on one website expressing that particular sentiment... http://home.talkcity.com/GenXAv/gypseyt/gypseyt1.html

Others have captured my feelings about 'tomorrow' with incredible eloquence.

I won't even try for originality with this subject.

Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. And today? Today is a gift. That's why we call it the present.

and...

Tomorrow is no place to place your better days.
--- Dave Matthews

I'm a "live in the present" kinda woman, overall.

Not a match. :p I said nothing about reality. You'll probably find several sites that say, "Tomorrow doesn't exist," which is what I meant.

(oh, just prove I'm wrong. The truth of self-evident statements need not be "proven")

Please change it back? Your version is SO much better. *grin*

Prove you're wrong? *lol* I can't even prove you exist and I've met you!

Point taken. You qualify for the finals... *smile*
